How to Visit

Treat it as Jinkeng Viewpoint No. 3
Golden Buddha Peak is Viewpoint No. 3 in Jinkeng Dazhai and the easiest place to see a broad Jinkeng panorama.
Tip:It belongs to the same Jinkeng area as Xishan Shaole and Thousand-Layer Terraces, but it is not the same stop.

Take the cable car for the easiest access
The most convenient way up is the Jinkeng cable car. A one-way ticket is CNY 55, and a round-trip ticket is CNY 100.
Tip:The Longji Rice Terraces entrance ticket is separate.

Hike only if you have enough energy
If you hike from the Jinkeng Dazhai parking area, the climb usually takes about 40-60 minutes, with slopes and steps.
Tip:Visitors with average fitness can take the cable car up and walk down.

Use it for sunset, not every Jinkeng view
Golden Buddha Peak is better for sunset and wide terrace views. For sunrise, staying near Xishan Shaole is more convenient.
Tip:Do not treat Golden Buddha Peak as a replacement for every Jinkeng viewpoint.

✦The cable car only goes to Golden Buddha Peak. It does not take you to Xishan Shaole or Thousand-Layer Terraces, so those need separate walking or local transport.
✦If you stay for sunset, confirm your downhill option and the cable car closing time before waiting too late.
✦During holidays, both the cable car and parking area can have queues, so do not book your return ride too tightly.
✦The top can be windier than the lower village. Bring a light layer in spring or autumn.
✦If the weather is very foggy, the cable car may still take you to a viewpoint with no clear panorama, so leave some flexibility in the day.
