This puts attractions with queues, height restrictions, or a higher tolerance for heights first, leaving the town and lake for the relaxed part of the visit.
Confirm opening status, queue length, and package inclusion for the glass bridge and ferris wheel soon after entering. Visitors uneasy with heights, travelling with someone with limited mobility, or not planning to use rides can switch directly to the lakeside walk and cultural town; high-altitude attractions are not essential to a complete visit.
6-8 hours: lake loop, rides, sunset, and a possible night session
For first-time visitors, families, or anyone including the rides, spend the morning in Baiyue Cultural Town and on the lakeside greenway. Use the afternoon for the amusement area, boat trips, or other confirmed activities, then see the ferris wheel and lake towards sunset. If an evening performance, lighting, or festival programme is operating that day, decide then whether to remain for the night session. The daytime visit is still complete if the evening programme changes.
A two-day, one-night stay suits visitors who want a slower pace, but choose accommodation separately by room type and view. Do not assume an on-site stay includes every ride, show, or special access. Xinyi Lotus Lake can already fill half a day to a full day. If you want to swap lakeside rides for mountain time, leave Xinyi Tianma Mountain Ecotourism Area for another day. One is a lakeside holiday park paced by ticket types and activities, the other a mountain destination paced by roads, shuttles, and walking; they do not combine well in one rushed day.

The expressway location favours driving, with relatively ample parking
Driving from the Pearl River Delta takes about 3-3.5 hours. The park is close to the Xinyi North exit of the Baomao Expressway. Its car park is relatively large; parking is approximately CNY 10 per visit and free within the first 30 minutes. Park in the designated area before walking to ticketing and entry, rather than stopping at the entrance for drop-offs or pick-ups.
Drivers planning to stay for the night session should also account for the road after leaving, city accommodation, or the drive home. In summer, keep water, a change of clothes, and mosquito repellent in the car for a more comfortable lakeside day and return journey.
City buses can get close, but their frequency is not suited to a tight schedule
From Xinyi city, take Bus 1 to Changshoutang or Gancun stop, then walk about 10 minutes towards the park. Services are infrequent, so taxis or self-driving are generally more flexible for families with young children, visitors with luggage, or anyone attending the night session. Non-drivers should estimate the final bus and time needed to book a car before entering, rather than leaving all transport decisions until the night session ends.
Visitors arriving by train or from another city can go to Xinyi city first or travel directly to the park if staying overnight, then decide the next day's plans. The park itself can fill half a day to a full day, so there is usually no need to crowd several distant mountain sights into the same schedule.
