Location, tickets and activity coverage
Yanming Lake Tourist Resort is in the Yanshan Lake International Garden Resort area of Yanyang Town, Meixian District, Meizhou. The usual entrance is the Visitor Service Centre. The adult entrance ticket costs around CNY 50 and the child and senior ticket around CNY 25; packages covering several rides cost around CNY 60–100, depending on the day's products and operating facilities.
The resort generally opens from 08:30 to 17:30, with some rides stopping around 17:00. Advance reservation is usually unnecessary, but holiday and group-buying peaks can mean queues. Before buying a package, check exactly which facilities are included rather than judging it only by the number of activities listed.
Suggested time and physical demands
Allow around 2–3 hours for the lakeside path, lake views and a rest at the café. With Squirrel Manor, cycling, rides and boating, allow 4–5 hours. The resort is large, so the more activities you add, the more useful a park bicycle or sightseeing vehicle becomes.
For an overnight stay, you can use day one for the resort facilities and accommodation, then walk around the lake in the morning on day two before eating at a nearby farm restaurant. Glass cabins, camping and evening activities are separate accommodation or on-site products; do not assume they are included in the standard admission ticket.

Lakeside paths, woodland and Squirrel Manor
The lakeside paths connect the water, woodland and open hillside areas, making them suitable for visitors who do not want a tightly packed day. Squirrel Manor is a common family stop. Whether close feeding or interaction is allowed depends on on-site management, so animal contact should not be treated as an unconditional promise.
The resort's paths and activity areas are spread out, and a relaxed walk requires less effort than a full rides itinerary. Visitors who mainly want to rest can stay around the lake, while families should locate Squirrel Manor and the children's facilities before deciding whether a package is worthwhile.
Rides, boating and holiday activities
The resort has unpowered play areas, mechanical rides, rainbow slides and water activities, which can be selected according to age and fitness. Water performances, acrobatics and similar activities may be limited to holidays or particular dates; do not write them into a fixed itinerary before checking the day's schedule.
Boats, rides and sightseeing vehicles may have separate operating periods. Check the activity status after arrival and order the day accordingly. If someone in the group does not want to join a ride, arrange a meeting point on the lakeside path or in a rest area rather than making the whole group wait.
Accommodation and who it suits
Yanming Lake suits families, light outdoor visitors, people who want a forest-style stay and photographers. Glass cabins and other accommodation products work best when the stay itself is part of the plan, rather than being added only for a photograph.
Some glass cabins are on a hillside and require guests to carry their own luggage up long stairs. Travellers with limited mobility, heavy luggage or very young children should confirm the room location, stairs and luggage arrangements before booking.
Build your day
A 2–3-hour lakeside relaxation route
After entering through the Visitor Service Centre, walk along the lakeside path, stop near the wishing tree and finish with a rest at the café or by the lake. This route keeps ticket and transport demands low, making it suitable for visitors with limited time or those who mainly want a quiet outdoor break.
The resort is large, so check the map before walking and confirm the direction back to the Visitor Service Centre. If the distance becomes too much for your group, switch to a park bicycle or sightseeing vehicle rather than continuing a long loop simply to complete it.
A 4–5-hour family route
Start at Squirrel Manor, then cycle or walk around the lake, and choose the unpowered play area, mechanical rides and boating according to the children's age. If a water performance or holiday event is scheduled, it can be added in the afternoon, but use the on-site timetable.
The activity areas are far apart, so put the most important activity in the first half of the day and leave time for queues, water and breaks. Do not force the group to complete every item in a large package; the children's energy and the day's operating conditions matter more.
A two-day forest stay
On day one, visit the main resort activities and stay in a room whose conditions you have confirmed. On day two, take a morning lakeside walk and eat Hakka food at a nearby farm restaurant before leaving. If you choose a glass cabin, check the stairs, luggage, insects and bathing conditions rather than judging the accommodation from photographs alone.
Get there
Driving, high-speed rail and city transport
Driving to “Yanshan Lake Resort” is convenient. The journey from the Pearl River Delta takes around 2.5–3.5 hours, and the entrance usually has a large car park; whether private cars may enter the resort should be confirmed under the day's ticket policy. A taxi from Meizhou West Railway Station takes around 40–50 minutes, while city bus or tourist-line schedules should be confirmed before travelling.
For a first visit, search for the Visitor Service Centre rather than only the resort name and then searching internally for the entrance. The points inside the resort are spread out, so confirm sightseeing-vehicle and parking arrangements in advance if you have older adults, children or luggage.
Know before you go
Routes, signs and mobility
Some signs are not continuous across the large resort, so photograph the map or ask staff for directions after entering. A park bicycle or sightseeing vehicle can reduce backtracking, but rental and operating conditions depend on the day.
The forest setting means more insects; bring repellent. Rides are easier in sports shoes and trousers. Glass cabins are reached by stairs, so travellers with heavy luggage or limited mobility should choose carefully.
Food, weather and activity changes
Food choices inside the resort are limited and may cost more than nearby farms. Bring water and snacks, or plan a proper meal in Yanyang Town or Meizhou city. Rain, heat and holiday crowds can affect boating, performances and rides, so a cancelled activity should not be the only reason the day fails.
