Location and entry credentials
Aranya (阿那亚) is in Beidaihe New District, Qinhuangdao. Visitors need an access credential, such as a community guest pass for accommodation guests, an arts-venue ticket, or a reservation for the Lonely Library (孤独图书馆). Each credential covers different areas, and the entry checkpoint depends on the credential and the day's arrangements. Check the entrance shown on your booking or reservation before setting out.
How long to spend
A walk along the coast to see the architecture and browse Liuqi Wenchuang Jiequ (六期文创街区), the Phase 6 creative district, takes about 2–3 hours. Allow half a day if you plan to visit the art museum, theaters, and market. Tickets for the Arts Center (艺术中心) and UCCA Dune Art Museum (UCCA沙丘美术馆) are about RMB 100–200; opening hours are roughly 9:30 am–5:30 pm. Available sessions and visitor access depend on the ticket purchased.

Architecture and coastline
Aranya Chapel (阿那亚礼堂) and the Lonely Library (孤独图书馆) are the best-known buildings on the coast, with Xiaoye Sculpture (小野雕塑) near the library. Liuqi Wenchuang Jiequ (六期文创街区) has shops, cafés, and boutiques. Visitors may view the chapel from outside; its interior is open only to accommodation guests. Entry to the library interior requires a reservation, and photography is not allowed inside.
Who it suits
Visitors interested in architecture, art exhibitions, and an easy coastal walk can spend half a day around the venues and district. Families with children can also use the community playground and swimming pool. The chapel and library area gets crowded at peak times. The library has no air-conditioning and can feel stuffy in summer, so an outdoor visit focused on the buildings and shoreline is more comfortable.

2–3 hour coastal loop
Complete the entry check at the gate shown on your credential, then take the community shuttle to Chapel Station (礼堂站). Walk along the coast to Aranya Chapel (阿那亚礼堂), the exterior of the Lonely Library (孤独图书馆), and Xiaoye Sculpture (小野雕塑), then continue on foot to Liuqi Wenchuang Jiequ (六期文创街区) and return to the shuttle stop. This route does not enter indoor venues that require separate tickets or reservations. Allow about 2–3 hours for walking and photos.
Half-day arts itinerary
Spend time outside the chapel and library first, then enter UCCA Dune Art Museum with a reservation. Continue along the coast to Jiushen Juchang (酒神剧场), Fengchao Juchang (蜂巢剧场), and Haibian Shiji (海边市集). If you want to return to the chapel beach before sunset, include time for the coastal walk and waits for the community shuttle. If a venue is temporarily closed or your reservation does not match, use the shorter route instead.
Get there
Transfers from the railway station
From Beijing, take a high-speed or intercity train to Beidaihe Railway Station; the trip takes about 1–1.5 hours. Aranya's official shuttle bus from the station takes about 40 minutes and costs around RMB 25 per person. Changli Railway Station is about 14 km from the resort, but trains are limited, so it is usually practical only for short trips in the surrounding area.
Ride-hailing, local transport and parking
A taxi from Beidaihe Railway Station to the community takes about 30–40 minutes and costs around RMB 60–70. Accommodation guests whose ride-hailing car needs to enter the community should send its license plate to their accommodation host in advance for registration. Other visitors should get out at the gate shown on their credential and complete the entry check there. The community shuttle runs about 8:00 am–10:00 pm; use of the shuttle requires an eligible community access credential. You can walk or rent a bicycle inside the resort; a single bicycle is about RMB 90 per day, and parking is about RMB 20–40 per day.

Reservations, opening hours and photography
Accommodation guests receive a community pass after check-in. Arts-venue tickets are checked according to the ticket terms, and different tickets grant access to different spaces.
Visitor slots for the Lonely Library must be reserved in advance through Aranya's official channels. Available slots and release times change, and demand is especially high in peak season. If you plan to visit several spaces in one day, check which areas each credential covers; a community pass is not a venue ticket.
The chapel interior is not open to general visitors. Photography is prohibited inside both the chapel and the library.
Sunrise, sunset and venue hours
Coastal sunrise times vary by season: roughly 4:30–5:30 am from May to September and 6:30–7:00 am from October to April. Blue hour is about 20–30 minutes before sunrise. Sunset and light depend on the weather. The beach to the left of the chapel is a good place to see morning light on the water, and on a clear morning you can frame the library from outside. Venue hours remain subject to that day's reservations and operating schedule.
Coastal safety and dining
Jellyfish may appear along the coast. Keep a close watch on children near the water, and do not let them touch jellyfish; stay within the safety boundaries when taking photos. Dining options include Canteens 3, 4, and 7 (第三、四、七食堂), as well as Yu Shi (鱼市), Chuntai (春台), and Ysea. On the half-day route, eat near the venue or creative district to avoid backtracking.
