Location and entrance

Ledao Ocean Kingdom (乐岛海洋王国) is at 148 Longhai Avenue in Shanhaiguan District. The main entrance has a visitor service center and parking. Marine animals, an elevated sea-view sightseeing ride (海上观光车), other rides, water attractions, and a beach are all in one park. A standard visit takes about 4–5 hours; families planning to spend time in the water can stay for a full day.

Tickets and operating hours

An adult ticket is about RMB 165. Children under 1.2 m are generally admitted free. Discount tickets for students and visitors aged 60 or older start at about RMB 42.5, a substantial difference from the adult price; check the ticket type for the day before buying. In peak season, roughly June–August, the park is open about 8:30 am–5:30 pm. Water World closes around 4:00 pm, and most water attractions close in September and October.

Choose your visit

Marine animals, sightseeing vehicle, and water rides

Families can visit the beluga pavilion (白鲸馆), marine theater (海洋剧场), and fur seal feeding show (海狗喂食秀). Other attractions include an elevated sea-view sightseeing ride, Ferris wheel, pirate ship, children's water play area, wave pool, and natural beach. The ride follows an elevated track with views over the sea and is in high demand. Visitors can play on the beach, and some people go shell collecting at certain times.

A day that suits your group

Families can take breaks between beluga and dolphin-and-sea-lion shows, then choose the children's water area. Visitors who prefer thrill rides can add the pirate ship and giant swing ride. Ledao is an outdoor amusement and water park; water attractions are much more limited in autumn. If water play is a priority, visit in summer and check which areas are open that day.

Build your day

4–5 hour highlights route

After entering, queue first for the elevated sea-view sightseeing ride, then visit the beluga pavilion. Fit in the dolphin and sea lion shows according to the day's schedule, followed by the Ferris wheel and pirate ship, and finish at the natural beach. The ride and popular water slides can have 1–2 hour queues at peak times. Start with the ride, then adjust the rest of the route based on the queues.

Full day of rides and water activities

Queue for the sightseeing ride in the morning, then visit the beluga pavilion and fur seal feeding show. In the afternoon, go to the children's water play area or wave pool, if open; take the Ferris wheel around sunset for sea views. Water World (水世界) closes around 4:00 pm, so check its hours before planning the afternoon. Show times are posted inside the park after entry.

Add a nearby Shanhaiguan coast stop

Old Dragon's Head is about 5 km from Ledao. If you leave the park early and transport is convenient, you can make a short stop there; if you stay all day, do not try to fit it in as well. Both are coastal sites. Before leaving Ledao, check taxi or bus service, and plan where you will stay or how you will return at night.

Get there

From Shanhaiguan Railway Station

After arriving at Shanhaiguan Railway Station by high-speed train from Beijing, take a taxi or bus 25 to the park; the trip takes about 20–30 minutes. The main entrance is at 148 Longhai Avenue. Set “Ledao Ocean Kingdom Main Entrance” as your navigation destination. Arrive early if driving in peak season.

Parking and walking inside the park

The park has several parking areas. “Ledao Parking Lot No. 2” (乐岛2号停车场) is closer to the children's water play area; parking is about RMB 20 per day. The park is large, and the 4–5 hour route involves walking between the aquarium, rides, water area, and beach. Wear shoes suitable for extended walking.

Know before you go

Tickets, identification, and discounts

Tickets can be bought online in advance, usually at least one hour before arrival; no separate reservation is required. Present the QR code and valid identification requested by your order. International visitors should confirm with the ticketing channel how to purchase and verify tickets using a passport. Adult tickets are about RMB 165; student and senior discounts start around RMB 42.5, and children under 1.2 m are generally admitted free. Check age, height, and the day's price before buying.

Water-park season and queues

The park has the fullest range of activities from about June to August, and Water World usually closes around 4:00 pm. Most water attractions close in September and October, leaving only a few rides. Queues for the sightseeing ride and popular water slides can reach 1–2 hours. In peak season, queue for the ride after opening and check the lines again later in the afternoon.

Lockers, rentals, and food

Large lockers are about RMB 40 per day and small lockers about RMB 30. Inner tubes, showers, and food may cost extra. You may bring food and water into the park, but instant noodles are not allowed and hot water is not provided. Before children enter the water, look at the conditions and cleanliness of the area that day.

Beach safety and leaving the park

Jellyfish may appear on the beach; keep children close to you and do not let them touch the jellyfish. Follow the posted instructions for water attractions. For photos, shoot the elevated sea-view sightseeing ride from the side, take a group photo in front of the beluga viewing glass, or capture a Ferris wheel sunset silhouette. The Ledao sign on the beach is another photo spot. There is no shade on the beach, so use sun protection in the afternoon and arrange your return ride before leaving in the evening.
