Entry and opening hours

Qingjing Mosque is at No. 108–110 Tumen Street in Licheng District. The main entrance faces the street and is next to Tonghuai Guanyue Temple. Admission is CNY 3 per person and is normally paid on site without advance booking. The recorded opening windows are until 17:15 in winter and 17:45 in summer; do not arrive at the last minute because visitor entry may stop before closing.

The mosque is closed to ordinary visitors all day on Fridays, the Muslim day of congregational prayer. It remains an active mosque rather than a building used only for photography, so plan for clothing, conduct and restrictions around the prayer spaces.

Visit length and who it suits

Allow about 20–30 minutes for a quick visit covering the gate tower, the ruins of the Fengtian Prayer Hall, Mingshan Hall and the Moon-Watching Platform. First-time visitors who want more context on Quanzhou's maritime Silk Road history and Islamic architecture can allow about one hour.

Choose your visit

The gate, platform and ruins

The main sights are the pointed arches of the gate tower, the Moon-Watching Platform, the surviving stone elements of the Fengtian Prayer Hall and the red-brick Mingshan Hall. The contrast between the stone structures and Minnan brickwork makes it possible to see different building traditions within one historic site.

Inscriptions and religious space

The gate and mosque grounds retain Arabic inscriptions, a Yuan-dynasty stele and a Ming-dynasty imperial edict protecting Islam. The new prayer hall is a worship space, not a normal exhibition room; visitors should not enter it without permission or take photographs in a way that interferes with worship.

Build your day

The 20–30-minute short route

Enter from Tumen Street, see the four pointed arches, then continue to the Fengtian ruins, Mingshan Hall and the Moon-Watching Platform before leaving through the same entrance. The route is short enough to place between visits to Guanyue Temple, the Confucian Temple or other Tumen Street stops.

The one-hour detailed route

Follow the gate tower, Moon-Watching Platform, Fengtian Prayer Hall, Mingshan Hall, the historical and cultural exhibition area and the inscription area. The mosque is not large, but the inscriptions and architectural details reward a slower visit; do not reduce it to a few minutes just to collect another stop.

After leaving Qingjing Mosque, you can walk to Tonghuai Guanyue Temple or the Confucian Temple, but this is only a combination of nearby stops. Their admission, opening hours, worship activities and photography rules must be handled separately.

Get there

Tumen Street entrance and old-city transport

Take a bus to the “Guandi Temple” stop, then walk about 100 metres to the mosque. Within the old city, Xiaobai costs about CNY 2 per ride as a reference, and shared bicycles work for short connections between Tumen Street, the Confucian Temple and Guanyue Temple.

Driving into the Tumen Street core is not practical. You can use the ground-level car park near Guandi Temple or park outside the old city and walk in. During holidays, spaces are limited, so confirm the parking plan before setting out.

Know before you go

Clothing and conduct

Wear trousers or a skirt below the knee, and avoid bare shoulders. Flip-flops may also prevent entry. Keep quiet, do not enter the new prayer hall without permission, and do not use flash in areas used for prayer.

Photography must follow the site's requirements and should not block an entrance. Qingjing Mosque and Guanyue Temple are only a short walk apart, but the mosque's clothing and prayer rules do not apply to the temple next door.

Timing and expectations

Do not schedule a visitor stop on Friday. Tour groups are more common at weekends; 09:00–10:00 or after 16:00 can be more comfortable for looking at the buildings and avoiding some of the midday heat. Follow the actual last-entry arrangement on the day.
