Rural area and season
Jiufeng Town is in northern Lechang. It is a rural touring area made up of Chaliao, Shanglang, Dalang, Jiangyuan, Pingshi, and other villages, not one scenic area with a single ticket. Allow 2 days and 1 night. A one-day visit can cover only a few villages, not all the flower fields and orchards.
The reference spring flowering season is mid-February to mid-March. Plum, peach, and rapeseed flowers are affected by temperature. In July and August, you can plan to pick Huangjin Nai plums or yingzui peaches. Natural villages and roadside flower fields are usually free, while some private orchards may charge entry or photography fees.
Who it suits
Jiufeng suits self-drivers, photographers, families, and visitors who enjoy slow rural travel. Public transport is not very convenient. Flower fields, terraces, orchards, and homestays change with the season, weather, and private operation, so a specific village cannot be guaranteed to stay in full bloom or open for picking.

Seasonal flower fields
Jiufeng is mainly about peach, plum, and rapeseed flowers set among terraces, farmhouses, and mountain roads. Chaliao and Shanglang are better for seeing the flower fields as a whole. The reference season is mid-February to mid-March, but peak bloom, fallen flowers, and mist all depend on temperature.
Villages and rural architecture
Dalang's stone bridge, Jiangyuan's flower road, Pingshi's century-old Peach Blossom King, and Republican-era-style homestays offer cultural and photography subjects beyond the flower fields. Jiufeng is not a uniformly landscaped flower park, so villages differ in style, roads, and opening conditions.
Summer orchards
In July and August, Huangjin Nai plums, yingzui peaches, and the terraces offer a different seasonal experience. Picking is operated by private orchards, so prices, ripeness, and photography permissions vary. Jiufeng suits rural driving, photography, and family activities. Visitors seeking one ticket and fixed facilities should adjust their expectations.

Spring village sequence
Start at the Chaliao viewpoint, continue to Shanglang or Dalang for flower fields, stone bridges, and farmhouses, and choose Jiangyuan's flower road according to the road conditions. Light is softer in the morning and later afternoon, but the flowers themselves do not become fixed by the time of day.
Accommodation and slow travel
If you stay overnight, spend the first day on the main flower fields and a homestay, then use the second day for a more distant village or nearby Golden Rooster Ridge. Book accommodation about two weeks ahead during peak season. Finding a room after arrival is not a reliable plan.
Get there
Driving
Driving from the Pearl River Delta takes about 3–3.5 hours. The mountain section of Provincial Road S248 has many bends and may be foggy in spring, so drive in daylight. On weekends, do not park on village roads, bends, or the edges of flower fields. Use regulated areas such as the Jiufeng Town bridgehead, Visitor Reception Center, Shuangqiao bridgehead on the ring road, or the former local tax parking area.
High-speed rail and hired cars
After arriving at Lechang East Station by high-speed rail, hire a car or share a ride up the mountain; the drive takes about 40 minutes. Public transport is not convenient, so visitors without a car should organize companions and a hired car in advance. Bus frequency is unstable and cannot be treated as on-demand service.
Know before you go
Flower season and roads
Flowering depends heavily on temperature. Before setting out, ask the homestay or local villagers about recent flower conditions and roads. Rain and fog reduce visibility on the mountain roads. Weekend traffic is more likely to queue at village entrances and narrow bends, so an early departure and early return are easier to manage.
Parking and walking
There are many small field roads and stone village paths. Wear sports shoes with good grip and bring a light outer layer when morning and evening temperatures drop. Do not stop in the middle of a road or on a field ridge for photos; village roads must remain open to vehicles and residents.
Private orchards and accommodation
Jiufeng Town has no unified ticket. Private orchards may charge separately, and homestays, picking, food, and photography conditions should each be confirmed. Golden Rooster Ridge and Pingshi Old Street can be nearby additions, but the distance and mountain-road time make it unsuitable to schedule too many places in one day.
