Plan at a glance
Activity-based resort
Yunmen Mountain Tourist Resort is in Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County and suits a 1–2 day visit. The resort is open 08:30–17:30, with entry ending at 16:30. The glass bridge generally runs about 08:45–17:00. Water activities may operate only during the summer or in suitable weather.
The reference base ticket is CNY 60, but the cableway, glass bridge, waterfall elevator, Cloud Coaster, rafting, and other activities usually cost extra. A combination package is about CNY 168; check the specific ticket to see what it includes. A base ticket alone does not mean that every facility is available to you.
Fitness and activity boundaries
The cableway station is about 2 km from the ticket checkpoint, and activities also involve walking and waiting. Having a cableway does not mean the whole visit is walk-free. The glass bridge, rafting, coaster, and water activities are affected by weather, age, height, queues, and safety rules, so choose from what is operating that day.

Glass bridge and high views
The glass bridge, Xiangyun Tower, and high viewpoints provide the most direct high-altitude experiences in the resort. The bridge is long and has a substantial drop, so it suits visitors comfortable with heights. It may close in rain; even with a package ticket, visitors afraid of heights do not need to force themselves to cross.
Waterfalls, elevator, and mountain activities
Yunshang Waterfall, the cliff elevator, Cloud Coaster, and Cloud Rafting combine waterfalls, valleys, and ways to move downhill. Each has its own weather, age, height, queue, and clothing considerations. Most are not included in the base ticket, so decide what you genuinely want before buying a package.
Who it suits and what to prioritize
Families can prioritize the cable car, glass bridge, waterfall elevator, and gentler forest activities. Younger visitors may then consider the swing, rafting, and coaster. The trade-off is clear: there are many activities, but secondary spending and operating conditions are also more complicated. You do not need to fit everything into one day.
Build your day
Lower-effort route
Follow “Entrance → sightseeing bus or walk to the cableway station → cable car uphill → Xiangyun Tower → glass bridge → waterfall elevator → Cloud Coaster or walk downhill → exit.” If weather closes an activity, keep an alternative route back to the main path and exit. Do not wait repeatedly at a closed attraction.
Combining activities
The glass bridge and waterfall elevator fit naturally into the same high route. Rafting and the coaster should be reordered around queues, clothing, and closing times. The sequence can determine whether you catch the last service, so starting the main facilities after 16:00 is too late.
Get there
Driving
Driving from the Pearl River Delta takes about 2–3 hours. Navigate to the Yunmen Mountain Tourist Resort parking lot; parking is approximately CNY 10 per day. Hotels inside the resort may have different arrangements. Highway-fee credit toward the ticket is an on-site policy; use your payment record and license plate according to the window rules on the day.
High-speed rail and public transport
A taxi from Shaoguan Station takes about 30–40 minutes. You can also take a Ruyuan bus from Shaoguan, get off at the Yunmen Mountain junction, and walk about 10 minutes. The last resort shuttle may be around 18:00. For the return, consider both the last activity service and the connection to the county town rather than only the entry time.
Know before you go
Tickets and closing times
The base ticket does not include most of the add-on activities visitors actually choose. Decide before buying whether you want the cableway, glass bridge, elevator, coaster, or rafting. The glass bridge may close temporarily in rain, and some facilities stop around 16:00. If you arrive in the afternoon, start with the most time-sensitive activity.
Equipment and safety
The paths, coaster, and water activities require shoes with good grip. The shoe covers supplied for the glass bridge do not replace suitable footwear. Rafting may require a raincoat. Supplies on the mountain are limited and expensive, so bring drinking water and simple food.
Accommodation and nearby places
Yunmen Temple is close to the resort but is a separate temple attraction, not one of the resort's activities. For a two-day visit, spend the first day at the resort and visit Yunmen Temple, Bashi Yao Village, or Nanshui Lake on the second day, checking tickets and driving time separately.
