Two areas to choose from
Taihe Mountain Scenic Area is in Miaozi Town, Qingzhou, Weifang, and has two main areas. Huanghuaxi is the gorge, stream, waterfall and boardwalk area. Tianyuan Valley focuses on Taihe Temple, the Confucian Temple and the mountain-top views; Jijiding’s imitation Great Wall is an additional point whose access can be affected by same-day management.
Choose “Taihe Mountain Scenic Area” or “Huanghuaxi Scenic Area” for navigation according to your plan. The Huanghuaxi adult ticket is CNY 90, with reference hours of 08:00–17:30 and last admission at 16:30. A Taihe Mountain–Tianyuan Valley combination ticket is approximately CNY 110–120. Sightseeing buses, moving walkways, slides and rafting cost extra; the Huanghuaxi ticket, combination ticket and transport activities are different products.
Arrival and time needed
Taihe Mountain is about 40 minutes from Qingzhou city and about 1.5 hours from Weifang city. From Qingzhou Station, take a bus toward Miaozi Town or a taxi. Parking is approximately CNY 10 per day. Allow 1.5–2 hours for the Huanghuaxi short loop, 3–4 hours for its longer loop, and at least half a day or more if adding Tianyuan Valley.

Huanghuaxi Gorge route
Sanhe Waterfall, Water Curtain Cave, Nu’er Spring and the streamside wooden boardwalks are concentrated in the entrance and front section of Huanghuaxi. Sanhe Waterfall is the main waterfall and pool view, Water Curtain Cave passes close to the falling water, and Nu’er Spring marks the point where the short loop meets the uphill route.
Some waterfall and lake features may show signs of artificial or recirculated water. Focus on the changing combination of gorge, stream, boardwalk and water rather than expecting the flow of a natural waterfall to remain constant. The front section is gentler for a family short route; the full loop suits visitors with mountain-walking experience.
Tianyuan Valley cultural route
Tianyuan Valley can be visited through Taihe Temple, the Confucian Temple and a downhill mountain walk. A sightseeing bus costs approximately CNY 20 and reaches the area near Taihe Temple, after which visitors walk downhill. Jijiding and the “Weifang Little Great Wall” are additional summit points. If open, they add a mountain view; if closed, use the temple, Confucian Temple and open trails instead.
Huanghuaxi suits visitors interested in scenery, photography and a short family route. Tianyuan Valley suits visitors interested in Confucian, Buddhist and Taoist buildings, temples and mountain views. Choose between the two areas according to the day’s tickets, entrances and your group’s stamina rather than forcing them into one route.
Build your day
1.5–2-hour Huanghuaxi short loop
Enter Huanghuaxi and follow the gentler wooden boardwalk to Sanhe Waterfall, pass through Water Curtain Cave and continue to Nu’er Spring before returning by the same route. Use Sanhe Waterfall and Water Curtain Cave for the main photos; Nu’er Spring is the point to decide whether to climb farther.
This route suits visitors with limited time, families with children or anyone who wants the front gorge section only. There are still steps and slippery surfaces, and strollers are not suitable for the boardwalk and mountain paths.
3–4-hour Huanghuaxi long loop
Complete the short loop to Nu’er Spring, then continue uphill along the cliff route to higher boardwalks and valley views. Descend on foot or, if available, use the forest slide at approximately CNY 50 or the gorge rafting activity at approximately CNY 60.
The slide and rafting are extra activities. Confirm their opening status, price and safety requirements on site. Rain can change the conditions on the boardwalk, cliff route and downhill activities; visitors with average stamina can return from Nu’er Spring by the original route.
Tianyuan Valley route
Enter Tianyuan Valley, take the sightseeing bus for approximately CNY 20 to the area near Taihe Temple, then walk downhill to the Confucian Temple and other buildings. Include Jijiding and the “Weifang Little Great Wall” only if they are open that day; otherwise focus on Taihe Temple, the Confucian Temple and open trails.
Huanghuaxi and Tianyuan Valley are not connected by a simple level walk inside one park. If you choose a combination ticket, confirm the entrances, transport and same-day opening arrangements for both areas before deciding whether to visit them on one day.

Choosing the entrance
Drivers can navigate to the Taihe Mountain or Huanghuaxi entrance according to the planned area; parking is approximately CNY 10 per day. Public-transport visitors can travel from Qingzhou Station toward Miaozi Town, then use the bus or taxi arrangement available that day for the specific entrance. Do not assume that the two entrances can be connected by walking.
Parking and internal movement
The Huanghuaxi parking area and waterfall-route entrance serve the Huanghuaxi gorge. Tianyuan Valley has its own sightseeing-bus and temple-route arrangement. After arrival, confirm the ticket type, parking location and return transport before entering the mountain paths.

Steps, rain and equipment
Huanghuaxi has many steps and its boardwalks become slippery after rain; strollers are not suitable. Wear shoes with good grip and arrive in the morning to reduce parking and boardwalk crowds. Water mist is possible near Water Curtain Cave and the waterfalls, so protect phones and cameras.
Jijiding and food
Access to Jijiding and the “Weifang Little Great Wall” follows the day’s management arrangements. If open, it can be part of Tianyuan Valley’s summit views; if closed, use Taihe Temple, the Confucian Temple and open trails instead. Food and drinks inside the scenic area may be expensive, so bring water and a small snack.
