Location, ticket and hours
Jingtang Ancient Village is in Jingtang Village, Miaozi Town, Qingzhou, Weifang. The entrance is along the village’s main road. Drivers can navigate to “Jingtang Ancient Village Scenic Area Parking Lot,” where parking is free. From Qingzhou Station, take a taxi; the village is about 24 kilometres from central Qingzhou.
The listed ticket price is CNY 40 and opening hours are 07:30–18:00. No reservation is required. Student and senior discounts, as well as Qingzhou resident discounts, follow the day’s document and on-site rules. Allow 1–1.5 hours for the entrance, Zhang Family Courtyard, Wu Family Courtyard and South Watchtower, or 2–3 hours if you continue toward the high ground near West Watchtower.
Walking effort
The houses, walls and roads are built mainly from dry-laid stone. Expect stone paving, streams, courtyards and slopes. The route is not long, but surfaces become slippery after rain and the rear exit descends steeply. Families with children and visitors with limited mobility should stay on the main route and return the same way.

Stone courtyards and watchtowers
The main attraction is the village’s stone architecture. Zhang Family Courtyard and Wu Family Courtyard retain much of their original courtyard arrangement, and Wu Family Courtyard is also associated with filming for “Red Sorghum.” South Watchtower sits at a higher point and looks over the stone roofs and village layout.
Streams, old trees and filming locations
The stone bridge at the entrance, stream, stone doorways and the 500-year-old intertwined locust trees provide small-scale photography subjects. Visitors interested in historic buildings, village walking and documentary-style photography can follow the stream slowly; film-location visitors can focus on Wu Family Courtyard and the stone lanes.
Jingtang works as a half-day village stop rather than a drive-by view. Local farm restaurants and freshly made pancakes can provide a break, but the main visit remains the stone houses, watchtowers and streamside walk.
Build your day
1–1.5-hour main route
Enter through the main entrance and follow the stream uphill to Zhang Family Courtyard and Wu Family Courtyard. Continue to South Watchtower, then return along the safe main route or the way you came.
This route concentrates on the village buildings and defensive points for visitors with limited time or a visit after rain. Slopes and steps surround South Watchtower, so decide whether to continue west only after checking the conditions on site.
2–3-hour high-point route
First visit Zhang Family Courtyard, Wu Family Courtyard and South Watchtower. Continue west through the small gate near West Watchtower to higher ground for a view over the stone roofs and village layout, then descend to the main route.
The rear exit is steep and the stone paving puts extra strain on knees and footwear. Unless the route is dry and your group has enough stamina, return to the main road from the high point. If you plan to eat at a farm restaurant, reserve a meal after entering so it is ready when you finish.

Driving and public transport
Drive to Jingtang Ancient Village Scenic Area Parking Lot; parking is free and usually plentiful. There is no direct public bus, so public-transport visitors should travel to Qingzhou Station first and take a taxi for the final leg.
Moving on to other mountain sites
There is no sightseeing vehicle inside the village, so the visit is on foot. Jingtang, Taihe Mountain and Yishan are separate mountain attractions; use a vehicle for a same-day or two-day combination rather than planning one continuous walking route.

Ticket planning
Plan around the CNY 40 listed ticket and the 07:30–18:00 opening hours. Do not rely on reports of possible free entry before 07:30 or after 17:30 as a dependable ticket plan.
Surfaces and route choice
The stone paving is uneven and slippery after rain, so wear shoes with good grip. The rear exit is steep; older visitors, children and anyone with knee problems should use the main route or return the way they came instead of forcing a full loop.
Light, food and departure
Early morning and late afternoon light works well for the bridge, stream, stone doorways and watchtowers, but leave the village before 18:00. Food is mainly provided by local farm restaurants; bring water and a small snack before starting the walk.
