Most travelers approach via Litang and the Genyen south-line area. Roads can be rough, remote, and weather-dependent.

A light day can focus on viewpoints, Genyen Eye, and the Lenggu Monastery area. Multi-day trekking requires planning, gear, and local support.
Use Lenggu Monastery as the cultural anchor
New and old Lenggu Monastery areas give the route more context than a pure photo drive.
Watch altitude and weather continuously
The area averages around 4,000 m and rises higher on route. Wind, rain, snow, and road washouts can change plans quickly.
Keep fuel, food, cash, and time margins
Services are limited once you leave Litang. Carry supplies and do not depend on mobile signal or late-night rescue.
