How to Visit
1

Decide whether the paid enclosure is worth it

The paid section is small and often feels less valuable than the wider road and village views around Tagong.

Tip:Do not feel obligated to enter just because it is marked as a scenic spot.
2

Use nearby viewpoints for Yala Snow Mountain

Gunong Village, Balangshengdu, and roads around Tagong often give wider views of grassland and Yala Snow Mountain.

Tip:If clouds hide Yala Snow Mountain, moving to another nearby viewpoint usually will not fix the view.
3

Handle riding and photos clearly

If you ride a horse or use photo props, agree on price, route, and duration before starting. Keep cash ready for small local fees.

Tip:This is a high-altitude area, so do not run for photos.
Highlights
  • Wide grassland scenery around Tagong town
  • Yala Snow Mountain views when skies are clear
  • Easy pairing with Tagong Monastery and Gunong Village
  • Better as a road-trip stop than as a paid scenic-area visit
Insider Tips

Skip the paid grassland enclosure if you only have 20 minutes and clear free viewpoints nearby.

Carry windproof clothing; the grassland can be cold even in summer.

Do not feed animals or approach herds without permission.

Use a local driver if you plan sunset at Balangshengdu.

Tagong is around 3,700 m, so keep activity light on arrival.
