How to Visit
1

Pair the temple with Tagong town

Visit the monastery while passing through Tagong rather than making a long detour only for the temple.

Tip:Combine it with the grassland, Muya Golden Pagoda area, or Gunong Village to make better use of the Tagong stop.
2

Enter only if the interior matters to you

The outside red walls, prayer wheels, and snow-mountain setting are visible from the area. Enter if you want more religious and cultural context.

Tip:Do not treat active worship spaces as photo studios.
3

Follow the clockwise flow and photo rules

Move slowly, turn prayer wheels clockwise, and avoid interior photos where they are restricted.

Tip:Keep your voice low around worshippers.
4

Use the outside area for wider views

After the temple, step back toward the grassland edge for broader views of the complex and nearby mountains.

Tip:Keep the visit short if you have just arrived from Kangding or Xinduqiao and feel the altitude.
Highlights
  • Active Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Tagong town
  • Good cultural stop between Xinduqiao, Tagong Grassland, and Moshi Park
  • Exterior views with red walls, prayer wheels, and mountain backdrop
  • Short visit that adds context to the surrounding grassland
Insider Tips

Respect no-photo signs inside halls.

Wear practical shoes; temple lanes can be dusty or muddy.

Do not point cameras directly at worshippers without consent.

Bring small cash for admission or offerings if needed.

Move slowly because Tagong is high enough for altitude symptoms.
