The main value is looking back over Kangding city and the surrounding slopes. If cloud covers the hill, the visit becomes a simple cultural walk.
Tip:Skip it if your goal is major snow-mountain scenery; use it mainly for a Kangding city viewpoint.

Use the cableway if you want an easy visit
The cableway saves the climb and is the practical choice for a short Kangding stop. Walking up takes more time and energy at altitude.
Tip:Ask at the gate whether the ropeway is running that day.

Focus on the city viewpoint and temple stops
Use the upper area for views, prayer wheels, small temple buildings, and a relaxed walk rather than trying to turn it into a full-day mountain hike.

Leave margin for cableway closure and for dinner or onward transport in Kangding. Do not plan a tight same-day transfer immediately after.
