How to Visit
1

Choose a route instead of collecting every village

Jiagenba works best when you pick a few villages, streams, and viewpoints rather than driving all side roads in one day.

Tip:A rushed loop means more rough-road driving and less time at the places that are actually worth stopping.
2

Match vehicle to road condition

Some routes toward Yaha Pass and higher viewpoints are rough, narrow, or affected by controls. A SUV or local driver is safer for the rougher side roads.

Tip:Do not force a low sedan onto poor roads.
3

Use flowers, streams, and villages as the focus

Tiwu Village, Naticao / stream-side areas, and seasonal flower corridors can be better than paid photo props.

Tip:Do not enter fields, courtyards, or village property without permission.
4

Keep sunset plans conservative

If waiting for Gongga light from a higher viewpoint, confirm descent road and timing before dark.

Tip:If you are new to the route, descend before dark instead of relying on navigation after sunset.
Highlights
  • Flexible village and valley route near Gongga-viewing corridors
  • Seasonal Erse flower and meadow scenery
  • Good road-trip add-on from Xinduqiao or Kangding
  • Local cafes, streams, and Tibetan villages for slower stops
  • More rewarding when paced calmly
Insider Tips

Ask locally about current road controls before heading toward higher passes.

Bring cash for small village or cleanup fees.

Do not enter crop fields for photos.

Choose two or three points, not a long list.

Avoid strenuous walking if you have just climbed from low altitude.
