Qingchuan Pavilion is at No. 86, Xima Chang Street, Hanyang District. The main entrance is near the main building and Tiemenguan (铁门关). Daytime admission is currently free with a reservation through the Wuhan Culture and Tourism Code; the night tour is a separate paid product, with platform prices around CNY 59.9–99.9.
The core Qingchuan Pavilion area is relatively level, and 30–45 minutes covers Tiemenguan (铁门关), Yujixinggong (禹稷行宫), and the main building. Adding Turtle Hill brings more steps. Stay in the core area for historic buildings and river views, or climb Turtle Hill for a wider city panorama.
Daytime and night-tour hours
Daytime hours are Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00, with entry ending at 16:30; Monday is closed, and public holidays may follow special arrangements. Historic buildings and views across the river
Tiemenguan (铁门关), Yujixingong (禹稷行宫), and the main Qingchuan Pavilion building form the core visit and work well in that order. The main building's second-floor viewing platform looks toward Yellow Crane Tower and Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, while the Tiemenguan (铁门关) tower frames the gatehouse, bridge, and river in one view.
Turtle Hill Scenic Area connects with Qingchuan Pavilion. Along the climb, you can reach Fuyunting (拂云亭), Yinghua Zhandao (樱花栈道), Turtle Hill TV Tower, Hudiequan (蝴蝶泉), and Guiyue Pavilion (桂月亭). Turtle Hill has open views of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Yingwuzhou Bridge, and Yellow Crane Tower; some viewpoints may be closed for maintenance.
For photography and a history route
The second-floor platform of the main building is good for photographing Yellow Crane Tower across the river, while Tiemenguan (铁门关) works for bridge views. In good weather, Hudiequan (蝴蝶泉) and Guiyue Pavilion (桂月亭) can frame both bridges. Viewpoints change with weather, maintenance, and crowds, so keep a Turtle Hill alternative in mind.
The site suits visitors interested in historic sites, traditional architecture, or a route linking Yellow Crane Tower and Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. If your energy is limited, make the main Qingchuan Pavilion area the priority and treat Turtle Hill as an optional section.
Build your day
Core route: about 30–45 minutes
Enter through the main Qingchuan Pavilion entrance, see Tiemenguan (铁门关), continue to Yujixinggong (禹稷行宫) and the main building, then go to the second-floor viewing platform for views of Yellow Crane Tower and Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. Leave through the indicated exit, with Hanyang Riverfront or Hanyangzao Creative Park as possible next stops.
This route is short and relatively level, so it suits visitors focused on historic buildings and river views. Daytime reservations, the entry cutoff, and entrance controls follow the day's arrangements; use the signs to see whether the small gate near Tiemenguan (铁门关) is open.
Turtle Hill extension: about 1.5–2 hours
After Qingchuan Pavilion, if the connecting path is open, use the small gate below Tiemenguan (铁门关) to enter Turtle Hill Scenic Area. Follow Turtle Hill East Gate → Fuyunting (拂云亭) → Yinghua Zhandao (樱花栈道) → Turtle Hill TV Tower → Hudiequan (蝴蝶泉) → Guiyue Pavilion (桂月亭), then leave through Turtle Hill North Gate.
This route includes steps and sustained climbing, and the Hudiequan (蝴蝶泉) viewpoint may close for maintenance. If the path or a viewpoint is closed, shorten the route using the available directions. The Qingchuan Pavilion core can be visited on its own; the full Turtle Hill route includes the climb.
Yellow Crane Tower connection: about 3–4 hours
From Yellow Crane Tower in Wuchang, walk across Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. After coming down on the Hanyang side, enter Turtle Hill Scenic Area through the East Gate and follow the hillside route to Qingchuan Pavilion. Yellow Crane Tower, the bridge deck, Turtle Hill, and Qingchuan Pavilion require continuous walking and suit a two-bank historic-building day.
This route is long, with wind and traffic noise on the bridge and steps on Turtle Hill. Shorten one section in rain or high heat. In the reverse direction, complete the main Qingchuan Pavilion building first and then decide whether to climb Turtle Hill.
Get there
Metro and bus
Qintai Station (琴台站), Line 6, is the main metro option for the Hanyang side. After leaving the station, follow the signs toward Turtle Hill North Gate and then look for the Qingchuan Pavilion direction; do not rely on a fixed walking distance. You can also take Line 4 to Lanjiang Road Station (拦江路站) and continue by taxi.
Buses 553, 531, 711, 561, and 803 stop at “Qingchuan Avenue Qingchuan Pavilion.” Walk from the junction using the scenic-area signs. Navigate to “Qingchuan Pavilion” or No. 86, Xima Chang Street, and make sure the target is the Qingchuan Pavilion entrance rather than Turtle Hill North Gate.
Driving and crossing streets
Parking nearby is limited, so confirm a usable parking point and walking route before driving. Qingchuan Avenue has heavy traffic and complicated crossings; use signals. Public transport is more practical for a daytime reservation or a night-tour entry.
If walking from Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, leave on the Hanyang side and continue to Turtle Hill and Qingchuan Pavilion. After Turtle Hill, leave through its North Gate and continue to Hanyang Riverfront or Hanyangzao. Maintenance at the small gate may change the connection.

Viewpoints such as Hudiequan (蝴蝶泉) may close for maintenance, and the small gate between Qingchuan Pavilion and Turtle Hill may also change temporarily. Check the entrances, connecting path, and viewpoints on arrival. The main-building route remains available as a standalone visit.
Effort and nearby stops
The Qingchuan Pavilion core is relatively level, while the Turtle Hill and Yellow Crane Tower connection includes climbing and bridge walking. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Views from Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and Turtle Hill are sensitive to wind and rain; take photos from the path, away from vehicle lanes and unsafe river edges.
Qingchuan Pavilion connects well with Hanyang Riverfront and Hanyangzao. If coming from Yellow Crane Tower or the bridge, plan the longer route around your walking capacity. Nearby food depends on what is open that day.
