How to Visit
1

Begin at the Qianling Scenic Area Visitor Center and buy the Qianling ticket covering the Tomb of Princess Yongtai & Qianling Museum.

The shared Qianling ticket is CNY 100 in peak season and CNY 80 in the low season; the sightseeing shuttle costs CNY 20 separately.

Tip:A shared ticket covers the visit area but does not guarantee access to the tomb passage on every date.
2

Take the shuttle to the Tomb of Princess Yongtai & Qianling Museum stop and adjust the visit around the closure.

The original tomb passage is closed for conservation work from 25 March to 25 September 2026.

Tip:During this period, do not plan to enter the passage; visit the museum displays and the above-ground remains instead.
3

See the museum collection and stone sarcophagus first, then the outdoor stone sculptures.

Look for displays related to the Court Ladies mural, the stone sarcophagus with line carvings, Tang sancai ceramics and pottery figures, plus the huabiao columns, stone lions, and stone officials outside.

Tip:Museum entry does not depend on entering the tomb passage; do not cross into closed areas.
4

Continue to the Tomb of Prince Yide after this stop.

The Tombs of Prince Yide and Prince Zhanghuai provide alternatives for entering a tomb passage.

Tip:Do not wait at this stop for access to the closed Yongtai passage; the other two tombs are better suited to an underground-tomb visit.
Highlights
  • Above-ground remains and excavated objects from a high-status Tang female accompanying tomb.
  • Displays related to the Court Ladies mural, with Tang clothing and figure styles.
  • A hipped-roof stone sarcophagus with carved court ladies, flowers, birds, and animals.
  • While the passage is closed, the museum and outdoor stone sculptures still make this a complete stop.
Insider Tips

Do not schedule entry to the original tomb passage between 25 March and 25 September 2026.

The passage closure affects the tomb passage itself; it does not mean that Qianling Museum is closed.

If continuing to the two princes' tombs, wear shoes with grip that are comfortable on steps.

Flash photography is not suitable around murals and artefacts.
