Location and entry point
Fu Baoshi Memorial Museum is inside Baoshi Park. It is a traditional courtyard building with white walls and dark roof tiles, and a white-marble statue of Fu Baoshi stands at the entrance. Enter through the park’s south or east gate and walk to the museum; there is no separate museum car park.
Tickets and hours
Admission is free. No advance booking is required, but visitors register on arrival. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00, and closed on Mondays for maintenance.
How long to allow
The museum takes about 20–30 minutes on its own. If you also want to walk around the park, allow about 1–1.5 hours for the museum and the lake area together; it is a small museum rather than a half-day comprehensive museum.

Three exhibition sections
“艺术人生” (Artistic Life) introduces Fu Baoshi’s life through biographical material and objects, “艺术成长” (Artistic Development) follows his development, and “翰墨流芳” (Enduring Legacy in Ink) presents high-quality reproductions of representative paintings. The route is useful for visitors who want a short introduction to his life and painting style; the reproductions should not be mistaken for original works.
The reconstructed Nanshizhai studio
The “南石斋” (Nanshizhai) room recreates Fu Baoshi’s study, including its desk, chairs, and traditional scholar’s tools and writing implements. It is a good place to slow down for a few minutes, especially if you want to connect the exhibition text with the working space behind it.
Who it suits
The museum suits visitors interested in Fu Baoshi, Chinese landscape painting, or traditional courtyard architecture. A 20–30-minute visit covers the main content; photography-focused visitors can also include the entrance statue, courtyard, and park lake. Photography of paintings is subject to the signs inside the museum.

Museum short route: about 20 minutes
Register at the entrance, then follow “艺术人生” (Artistic Life), “艺术成长” (Artistic Development), and “翰墨流芳” (Enduring Legacy in Ink) in that order. Visit the reconstructed “南石斋” (Nanshizhai) studio next and finish in the courtyard; if you also want courtyard photos, allow a few extra minutes.
Museum and park: about 1–1.5 hours
Enter Baoshi Park through the south or east gate, visit the memorial museum first, then leave the building and walk along the artificial lake toward the island and covered corridor. Follow the park signs to an exit near your parking or bus direction when you finish.
Connecting to the other museum
Ganxi War of Resistance Museum is also inside Baoshi Park, so the two can form one cultural walk. Their hours are different: plan Fu Baoshi Memorial Museum around its Tuesday–Sunday 9:00–17:00 schedule, while Ganxi Museum’s midday closure follows its own timetable.
Get there
Public transport
Bus routes 102, 305, and 803 run toward Baoshi Park, with the final approach made on foot through the park. Once inside, follow the park signs; the memorial museum does not have a separate transit entrance.
Parking
The museum has no separate car park. Use a parking lot around Baoshi Park, then walk in through the south or east gate; remember which side of the park your car is on before starting the visit.
Walking and access
The museum is in the park’s central area, and movement inside and between nearby sights is on foot. Wear shoes suitable for walking if you are adding the lake and covered corridor; step-free access inside the museum is unclear, so visitors with limited mobility should ask the museum about current access conditions before setting out.
Know before you go
Monday closure and registration
The museum is closed on Mondays and open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00. Admission is free, but visitors still register on arrival; Ganxi War of Resistance Museum’s midday closure does not apply to this museum.
Photography boundaries
The entrance statue, courtyard, and reconstructed Nanshizhai studio are suitable for photographs. Whether paintings and other exhibits may be photographed depends on the signs in each gallery; do not assume that every artwork can be photographed.
After your visit
After the museum, continue walking around Baoshi Park or leave the park for Xinyu fried rice noodles or Shuibei pickled rice noodles. The park is open all day, but entry to the memorial museum follows the museum’s own schedule.
