Plan at a glance

Four buildings form an easy-to-follow route

China Xuan Paper Culture Park is in Wuxi Village, Langqiao Town, Jing County, Xuancheng. The visitor centre is at the entrance. A natural order is A: Xuan Paper Museum → B: traditional workshop → C: experience centre → D: cultural and creative shop. The quick route takes about 1.5–2 hours; adding a hands-on activity and more time at the drying yard takes about 3–4 hours.

Driving is the easiest option. From Jingxian Railway Station, the journey takes about 20–30 minutes by tourist shuttle or taxi. Parking and crowd levels inside the buildings can rise during holidays.

Ticket reference and temporary free-entry periods

The adult ticket is about CNY 60, with discounts for students and visitors aged 60 or above. The park may have temporary free-entry periods; use the current ticket rules for the travel date.

The park generally does not require a reservation. Hands-on activities may cost extra or require advance enquiries. The park generally opens around 08:00–17:30, subject to the day's published arrangement.

Choose your visit

A and B: start with the material, then see the process

The Xuan Paper Museum in A introduces the history and craft background of Xuan paper. The traditional workshop in B shows parts of the handmade process, including traditional sheet-forming and drying. What you see in the drying yard depends on the day's production schedule.

This route suits visitors interested in culture, architecture, photography and family travel. If seeing the craft process is a priority, visit Building B earlier in your route.

C and D: make a sheet of paper, then browse for gifts

The experience centre in C offers activities such as traditional sheet-forming, the hand process of lifting wet fibres into a sheet, and rubbing. Ask whether the activity is open, whether it has a separate fee and whether you can join on the day. D has paper stationery, paper-cutting products and other souvenirs, so it fits naturally at the end of the visit.

For families with children, C adds a hands-on part to the museum visit. The activity will lengthen the stop, so allow about 3–4 hours for the fuller route.

Build your day

Quick route: A to D in sequence

Enter from the visitor centre and visit A → B → C → D. A provides the background, B covers the traditional process, C offers an activity if one is available, and D works best as the final stop. Allow about 1.5–2 hours.

At B, first see whether the drying yard and demonstrations are open, then decide how long to stay in the workshop. Follow the park signs between buildings and watch for temporary shuttle arrangements during holidays.

Deeper route: add sheet-forming or rubbing

On the fuller route, spend time at the traditional workshop and drying yard in B, then ask C about sheet-forming or rubbing. After the activity, continue to D for souvenirs. Allow about 3–4 hours.

Fees, available slots and reservation requirements for hands-on activities can vary by day. At C, ask how long the activity takes and when the finished piece can be collected.

Get there

Drive to the visitor centre

Navigate to the China Xuan Paper Culture Park visitor centre or parking area. Parking may fill during holidays. If the park opens an overflow lot and free shuttle, follow the on-site traffic and shuttle instructions.

Travel from Jingxian Railway Station

You can take a tourist shuttle or taxi from Jingxian Railway Station; the journey takes about 20–30 minutes. If you are not driving, confirm the return time and last available connection, especially after joining a hands-on activity.

Know before you go

Ticketing, activities and building access may change

Use about CNY 60 as the adult-ticket reference. Temporary free-entry offers, discounts and hands-on activity fees follow the travel-date arrangement. The A building, the drying yard and the C experience centre may also have different access conditions depending on production and visitor numbers.

Photography and parking

The A building's corridor, the B drying yard and the park's water features are suitable for photography. Follow the on-site photography rules in exhibition and production areas: do not use flash or enter restricted areas. During holidays, follow the parking and shuttle directions and keep the access routes clear.
