Jingting Mountain is on Zhaoting North Road in Xuancheng. It has an east gate and a south gate. The east gate is the main visitor entrance and the starting point for sightseeing buses. The south gate is another option for drivers, but vehicle controls may apply during holidays or at certain times.
The easy route takes about 1.5–2 hours; the cultural and mountain route takes about 3–4 hours. The elevation is modest, but the full visit still includes continuous uphill walking and steps.
Ticket, sightseeing-bus and entry times
Peak-season tickets are about CNY 50 and low-season tickets about CNY 30. A one-way sightseeing bus ride is about CNY 10. The scenic area generally opens around 08:00–17:30 and stops admitting visitors at about 16:30; exact hours can vary by day.
Early-morning entry policies, sightseeing-bus operation, repairs at Tianji Pavilion and access to the Guangjiao Temple twin pagodas may change. If you want to use an early-morning discount or special entry policy, check the day's notice before setting out.

Li Bai culture and the mountain-top view
Taibai Duzuo Tower, Jingting Summit and the mountain paths form the main route. Taibai Duzuo Tower highlights Jingting Mountain's connection with the poet Li Bai, while Jingting Summit looks over the city and surrounding hills. The route also passes the Shitao Memorial Hall.
This route suits visitors interested in poetry, history and a light mountain walk. There are steps and uphill sections, so wear comfortable shoes and allow enough time for the descent.
Guangjiao Temple twin pagodas and the foothill area
The Guangjiao Temple twin pagodas stand at the foot of the mountain and can be visited separately from the climb. Bamboo, tea gardens and distant city views provide subjects for photography; Tianji Pavilion may be closed for repairs, so check its current access status before going.
For a short cultural outing, combine the foothill pagodas with the east-gate mid-mountain section. The full mountain route can be planned separately.

Short route: east gate, sightseeing bus and Taibai Duzuo Tower
At the East Gate Visitor Centre, check whether the sightseeing bus is running, then ride to the area near Shitao Memorial Hall. Walk to Taibai Duzuo Tower, continue to an open viewpoint if available, then return the same way or descend by the steps.
The sightseeing bus departs from the east-gate visitor-centre area and costs about CNY 10 one way. Operating hours, boarding points and the last service may vary by day.
Full route: cultural sites, summit and the south-gate direction
Enter through the east gate and follow Shitao Memorial Hall → Taibai Duzuo Tower → Jingting Summit, then descend towards the south gate. This reduces backtracking, but check whether vehicles can reach or park near the south gate that day.
If Tianji Pavilion is under repair or the Guangjiao Temple twin pagodas are closed, adjust the route and return through the areas that remain open.

Plan the east and south gates separately
Use the east-gate visitor centre as the navigation target for the east side, and the south-gate entrance and parking area for the south side. East-gate parking is about CNY 10 per visit; south-gate parking is usually free, but spaces and vehicle access may be controlled during holidays.
If you plan to descend at the south gate, arrange a pick-up in advance. The two entrances serve different purposes, and a car may not be easy to find there at the end of the visit.
The sightseeing bus covers only one uphill section
The sightseeing bus reaches the mid-mountain area, but walking is still needed for the summit, twin pagodas and cultural sites. For the short route, use it for the uphill section; for the full route, include the steps and descent in the total time.

Check access and vehicle controls on the day
Repairs at Tianji Pavilion, closure of the Guangjiao Temple twin pagodas, bus suspensions and south-gate parking limits can all affect the route. Check the latest notices at the East or South Gate before committing to the full route.
Steps and the descent
Stone steps may be slippery after rain, so wear shoes with good grip. Older adults and children can use the east-gate bus and take a shorter mid-mountain route. If you are leaving from the south gate, confirm that your pick-up or vehicle can reach the parking area.
