Xuzhou Museum is at No. 118 Heping Road in Yunlong District. The East Gate faces Heping Road, with the former Qianlong Palace site next door. The museum is free, but real-name reservation is required through the Xuzhou Museum WeChat account and can be made up to 7 days in advance. It is normally closed on Mondays, except on statutory holidays.
The dated summer reference hours are 09:00–19:00 from 1 July to 31 August 2026, Tuesday to Sunday, with final entry at 18:00. This schedule applies only to those dates; use the reservation page for other periods. Overseas visitors should confirm which identity documents are accepted in the reservation process.
How much time to allow
Allow about 1.5 hours for the main highlights, focusing on “Han Jade Craft” on the second floor and “Han Figures in Display” on the third floor. For a fuller look at Xuzhou's Han objects and city history, allow about 3 hours and adjust the order after checking which galleries are open.

The three jade burial suits and Han jade
The second-floor “Han Jade Craft” gallery is the museum's main focus. It displays gold-thread, silver-thread and copper-thread jade burial suits, as well as an S-shaped dragon-and-phoenix jade pendant. The genuine gold-thread jade burial suit is held here; the one shown at Chu King's Mausoleum in the Han Culture Scenic Area is a replica, so the two places offer different kinds of viewing.
Han figures and other Xuzhou finds
The third-floor “Han Figures in Display” gallery brings together terracotta figures excavated in Xuzhou. It is a good place to look at differences in pose, clothing and facial expression. The second-floor “Han Grandeur” gallery also contains Liu Zhu's silver seal with a turtle-shaped knob and a belt hook from a Chu king's tomb, helping connect the museum visit with Xuzhou's royal-tomb sites.
Who this suits
The museum suits first-time visitors learning about Xuzhou's Han culture and travellers combining it with the Han Culture Scenic Area or Yunlong Mountain. The galleries are not very large, and holiday crowds slow the pace. Visitors who care about the objects should reserve ahead and leave time for popular galleries.
Build your day
A 1.5-hour highlights route
After entry, go first to the second-floor “Han Jade Craft” gallery to see the three jade burial suits and other jade objects. Continue through the remaining second-floor galleries, then finish on the third floor at “Han Figures in Display.” This order suits a shorter visit and places the gold-thread jade burial suit first, with the terracotta figures as the final stop.
A three-hour deeper route
Start on the third floor at “Han Figures in Display,” continue to “Weapons and War,” then go down to the second floor for “Han Jade Craft,” “Han Daily Life” and “Han Grandeur.” Finish on the first floor at “Ancient Pengcheng Through the Ages” for a quick overview of Xuzhou's history. Gallery access can change the order, so follow the floors that remain open if there is a temporary adjustment.
Connecting with nearby places
The former Qianlong Palace site is next to the museum and works as a short stop before or after the museum. Yunlong Mountain's North Gate is also nearby, but a mountain visit needs its own time; do not try to fit it into the museum's 1.5-hour highlights route.
Get there
Metro and entrance
Take Xuzhou Metro Line 2 to Shida Yunlong Campus Station (师大云龙校区站). The East Gate is about a 5-minute walk from the station and faces Heping Road. Confirm the reservation and entry arrangement at the East Gate before going into the galleries.
Driving and parking
The museum does not have dedicated parking. Drivers should use a public car park nearby and walk to the East Gate; on holidays, do not wait with the car at the museum entrance.

Reservation and entry
The museum is free, but real-name reservation is still required for entry. Overseas visitors should confirm which identity documents the reservation page accepts. If you do not have a successful reservation, same-day entry depends on remaining places and the staff's arrangement.
The dated summer extension
From 1 July to 31 August 2026, Tuesday to Sunday, the summer reference schedule is 09:00–19:00 with final entry at 18:00. It applies only to those dates; use the reservation page for ordinary periods. Mondays are normally closed, except on statutory holidays.
Crowds and photography
Galleries are busier on holidays and during popular time slots. Early morning or later afternoon is usually calmer for a slower visit. Near the exit gate, follow the sign and turn right to reach a red-wall photo spot; keep entrances clear and follow the museum's photography rules.
