Plan at a glance
Choosing an open-air entrance
Yunlong Lake is an open-air, free lake area that can be visited all day. It has no single main gate or fixed route. Use the Jinshan Park area for the water-fir walkway, start from Xuzhou Music Hall Square for the music hall, Wànrén Beach and the north shore, or use the south-shore entrance area for Yunlong Lake Water World, which has its own admission.
The lake is large. Allow 1–2 hours for a short section, 3–4 hours for a first full route, or 2–3 hours for a sunset and lakeside dinner plan. The lake area itself has no unified ticket and no reservation requirement; sightseeing buses, bicycle rental, Water World and music-hall performances follow their own arrangements.
What kind of visit suits it
Yunlong Lake works well for walking, cycling, photography and sunset watching. The water-fir walkway, Sugo Pagoda, Xiao Nanhu and Wànrén Beach are in different areas, so choose a starting point before setting out; moving between them is easier when you plan in sections.

The water-fir walkway and the east lake road
The water-fir walkway near Jinshan Park is one of the lake's easiest natural features to locate. The trees stand in and beside the water, making the area suitable for slow walking and photography. The softer light is usually around 09:00–11:00 or 15:00–17:00. Continue along the east lake road if you want to combine the walkway, Sugo Pagoda and open lake views.
Xiao Nanhu and seasonal lotus
Xiao Nanhu is a good area for a slower visit. Depending on the day's access, choose Ziwei Island or Hefeng Island and focus on the water, bridges and island views. Lotus is mainly a June–August feature; outside that season, the lake surface and walking paths become the main reason to stay.
The music hall, Wànrén Beach and sunset
The outside plaza of Xuzhou Music Hall is open for casual visits, and the building is especially suitable for photography when its lights come on. Indoor performances require separate tickets and do not follow a fixed schedule. Wànrén Beach is a useful short stop for families, while the evening is better spent walking by the lake, waiting for sunset and then looking for dinner along the lake roads.
Who this suits
Photographers can build a route around the water firs, Sugo Pagoda, lotus and sunset. Families may choose Wànrén Beach or Water World as a separate activity, while couples and friends can cycle, walk and stay for the evening view. Visitors who want to cover the entire lake should allow much more time and expect to use several forms of transport.
Build your day
A one- to two-hour quick route
Start near Jinshan Park, walk through the water-fir walkway, continue to Sugo Pagoda and then follow the shore to Wànrén Beach, with a distant view of the music hall. This route concentrates on one section of the east lake and north shore and suits a first visit with limited time.
If no shared electric bike or bicycle is available, keep the water-fir walkway and Sugo Pagoda as the main stops, then use the sightseeing bus for part of the transfer. The bus is listed at CNY 5 per section; there is no need to walk the full circuit just to complete a loop.
A three- to four-hour lake route
Start at Xuzhou Music Hall Square and walk or cycle along the east lake road. Continue through Xiao Nanhu, choosing Ziwei Island or Hefeng Island according to your interest, then cross Jieyou Bridge to Jinshan Park and return along the north shore. Adjust the time spent on the islands, bridge and lakeside paths; in summer, avoid spending too long in direct midday sun.
A two- to three-hour sunset route
Enter from the lakeside area that is easiest for you to reach in the late afternoon. Walk along the shore, find an open view and wait for sunset. Afterward, go toward Nanhu Water Street or a nearby restaurant for dinner and then see the lakeside lights. Ride-hailing cars can be harder to find after dark, so arrange the return trip before leaving the lake.
Get there
Different areas, different access points
For the water-fir walkway, navigate directly to Jinshan Park Car Park rather than to the general Yunlong Lake destination. The music-hall plaza and Wànrén Beach work as north-shore starting points. The south-shore main plaza is close to Water World, but its parking and shuttle arrangements are handled separately from the lake area.
Metro, buses and movement inside the lake area
Take Xuzhou Metro Line 3 to Kuangda Wenchang Campus Station (矿大文昌校区站), Exit 4, then take a short taxi ride toward the lake; Gongnong Road Station (工农路站) is another option. Line 2's Shida Yunlong Campus Station (师大云龙校区站), Exit 1, is about a 10-minute walk from the lake area. Bus routes such as You 2, 34, 39 and 606 also serve the surroundings.
Inside the lake area, you can use shared electric bikes, rent a bicycle or take the circular sightseeing bus. Shared vehicles can be scarce on weekends and in the evening, so families should prepare both a walking plan and a backup transport plan.
Know before you go
The lake is free; individual projects charge separately
The Yunlong Lake area itself is free and open all day, with no unified ticket. Yunlong Lake Water World sells separate tickets: the listed adult price is CNY 98, the child price is CNY 68, and children under 1.2 metres are free. Its listed hours are around 09:00–22:00. Prices, shuttles and seasonal passes belong to Water World and should not be treated as lake-wide benefits.
The cableway and slide on Yunlong Mountain are also separate from the lake area and its circular route. If you want to climb the mountain, allow time for its own entrance, walking effort and queues.
Weather, walking and supplies
The lake is large and the midday sun can be strong. Bring water, use sun protection and wear shoes suitable for a long walk. Toilets and rest areas can be busy when visitor numbers are high, so arrange supplies and a break before going into a more distant section.
Parking and leaving
Wanghu Pavilion Car Park and Shiboyuan Car Park are possible driving options, but spaces become limited on holidays. If you are visiting Water World, handle parking and the shuttle according to that day's ticket arrangement. Before sunset, confirm how you will leave the lake because a ride-hailing car may take time to arrive.
