Entrances, tickets, and hours

Dajiao Bay is on Haibin Road in Zhapo. The east gate is closer to the sea amusement area, while the west gate is closer to the bathing beach. A single adult entry is CNY 45–50, and a two-day pass is CNY 60. Children under 1.2 metres may enter free. Buy a two-day pass only if you genuinely plan to return.

The area is open 08:30–19:30. The bathing beach usually closes by 19:00, while the sea amusement and water activities may follow different hours and weather restrictions. Allow 2–3 hours for a short visit or 6–8 hours for a full day with swimming, food, and optional facilities.

How it differs from free beaches

Dajiao Bay is a managed, ticketed bathing area, so it is the appropriate choice if swimming is the main purpose of the day. It is different from open beaches such as Shili Silver Beach: swim only in the marked, open area with lifeguard supervision. Lockers, equipment, and water activities may require separate payment or depend on the day’s operation.

Choose your visit

Bathing beach and water facilities

The bathing beach has a defined swimming area and suits families who want a more controlled place to enter the sea. For a slower visit, focus on the beach, seaside paths, and rest areas. If you want the lazy river, slides, jet skis, or banana boats, first check the day’s opening status, what your ticket covers, and the physical requirements.

The seaside facilities and landmark areas are enough for a photo stop without queuing for every viewpoint. With older adults or young children, make time for shade, rest, and meals rather than filling the day with several high-energy activities.

Who it suits

Dajiao Bay suits families, swimmers who prefer a managed water area, and visitors who want the beach to be the main activity of the day. If you dislike crowds, water rides, or strong sun, choose the museum and Shili Silver Beach instead; Dajiao Bay does not need to be part of every Hailing Island itinerary.

Build your day

A relaxed 2–3 hour route

Enter through the west gate, start at the bathing beach and seaside paths, and swim or rest only in the open water area. Then decide whether there is enough time for another part of the park before leaving through the east gate or returning to the west. Check the lifeguard flags, weather notices, and closing times before entering the water.

This route works for a short stop, older travellers, or families keeping time for a midday break. Even without extra activities, allow time to change, rinse off, collect belongings, and leave; do not allocate every minute to the water.

A full family day

Use the morning for the bathing beach, eat in Zhapo at midday, and avoid the strongest sun before deciding whether to use an open water facility in the afternoon. You can return to Zhapo in the evening. If the group is tired after lunch, leave early instead of forcing another water activity.

If you buy a two-day pass, the second day can be a short return visit, with the rest of the time used for the museum or Shili Silver Beach. A cheaper pass does not mean that every facility is included, and sea conditions, queues, and equipment availability are not fixed.

Get there

High-speed rail and island travel

A taxi or shared ride from Yangjiang Station to Dajiao Bay usually takes about 40 minutes. If you stay in Zhapo or near Dajiao Bay, walking, a short taxi ride, or a rented electric two-wheeler is practical. In peak periods, driving into the core area can be slower than walking, so count the parking-to-gate walk.

Driving and parking

Drive to “Dajiao Bay Parking”. Parking areas are available near both gates and cost CNY 20–50 per day. Use the attraction’s clearly marked or public spaces; do not park in an unmarked bank, shop, or residential space. Late arrivals on holidays may face queues both entering and leaving.

Know before you go

Swimming limits and weather

Enter the water only in the marked area while it is open, and follow lifeguards, warning flags, and temporary closure instructions. Wind, thunderstorms, visibility, or water conditions can suspend some areas and activities. Even after entering the attraction, be prepared for swimming to be stopped or the visit to end early.

Managed access does not remove the need for supervision. Adults should stay with children, and everyone should plan for water, sun protection, and warmth before and after swimming. Do not apply Dajiao Bay’s managed-water rules to the island’s free beaches after you leave.

Equipment, lockers, and spending

Floats, lockers, rinsing, and swimwear may cost extra. Bringing a towel, spare clothes, and a dry bag is convenient. Before joining any optional water activity, check the posted price, duration, restrictions, and safety requirements; choose from the listed options rather than treating a temporary service as essential.

The midday sun is strong, so carry water and sunscreen. On holidays, entering early or placing the main activity in a cooler period is usually easier for families than waiting in heat and long queues.
