Location, tickets, and hours
Kongtong Rock Scenic Area is about 3 kilometres west of central Yangchun. The usual entrance is the main gate beside the ticket office. The adult ticket is CNY 25 on ordinary days and CNY 20 during holidays; student and senior tickets follow the on-site half-price rules, and children under 1.2 metres may enter free. Advance booking is normally unnecessary.
The area is open 08:30–17:00, with last entry at 17:00. Allow 1–1.5 hours for the cave, temple spaces, and cliff inscriptions. Allow 2–3 hours if you continue through the cave to Xiufeng Mountain and its outdoor viewpoints.
Cave, temple, and hill route
The visit combines a cave, religious spaces inside the rock, and an optional walk through Xiufeng Mountain. The cave and temple are the core experience; the hill route adds steps and effort when weather and fitness allow. Do not treat the two as one fixed-intensity walk.

Temple spaces and cliff inscriptions
The cave contains Buddhist and Taoist spaces, including areas associated with Guanyin, the Sixth Patriarch, the Jade Emperor, and Wenchang. Keep quiet, dress appropriately, and follow local etiquette. Rock columns, curtains, stalactites, and cliff inscriptions make this a good stop for visitors interested in local religion, history, and limestone landscapes.
Xiufeng Mountain and the outdoor section
After the cave, the route can continue into Xiufeng Mountain, where steps lead past unusual rocks, small pavilions, and views of the fields below. Some platforms and paths may be damaged. Follow the open route and do not enter an undeveloped side trail; anyone who does not want the climb can stay with the cave and entrance areas.
Build your day
A 1–1.5 hour cave route
Enter through the main gate, visit the temple spaces inside the cave, see the main formations and cliff inscriptions, and return through the marked exit. There are many steps and some wet ground, so walk slowly. In religious areas, do not touch offerings or cross marked lines.
A 2–3 hour cave and hill route
After the cave, continue to Xiufeng Mountain only if the weather, fitness level, and open paths allow. Follow the steps to a viewpoint and return before dark. Do not enter a broken, closed, or unmarked path for a higher view, and leave room for the closing time.
Get there
City and high-speed rail transport
A taxi from Yangchun Station usually takes 15–20 minutes. From central Yangchun, a shared electric bike can also be practical. Navigate to “Yangchun Kongtong Rock Scenic Area” or the main gate instead of stopping at a private car park along the road.
Parking and entrance
There is a car park near the main gate, with charges shown on site. Park and enter through the main gate. Do not use an unconfirmed side path after parking outside the attraction.
Know before you go
Mosquitoes, steps, and strollers
Mosquitoes are common near the hills and cave entrance, so bring repellent. Both the cave and hill route have slippery steps; wear shoes with good grip. Strollers are not suitable, and families with young children should decide in advance whether to carry them or shorten the route.
Some platforms and paths may be under repair. Follow the day’s signs. Do not enter non-public areas to look for an animal facility or unverified wildlife; the main visit is the cave, temple, and hill walk.
Religious etiquette and food
The cave contains active religious spaces. Follow signs for photography and quiet, do not step over thresholds, and do not interrupt worshippers. After the visit, eat in central Yangchun or near the attraction, checking restaurant hours on the day.
