Plan at a glance
Two sites and reservations
Yangjiang Museum has two main sites. The main museum is inside the Yangjiang Culture and Arts Centre on Dongfeng Third Road in Jiangcheng District; the Moyang Tower branch is inside Yuanyang Lake Park. They are separate entrances, not different floors of one building. When navigating or booking, choose either “Yangjiang Culture and Arts Centre” or “Moyang Tower, Yuanyang Lake Park”.
Both sites are free, but “free” does not mean walk-in access. Reserve through the Yangjiang Museum WeChat account and bring the required identity document. The usual hours are Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:00; Monday is normally closed except public holidays.
Time and exhibition focus
Allow about one hour for one site, or about two hours for both sites plus a walk around Yuanyang Lake Park. The main museum has relatively few permanent displays and its focus may change with temporary exhibitions. Moyang Tower is the better choice for a more systematic history of Yangjiang, so do not expect the two sites to offer the same visit.

Moyang Tower and Yangjiang history
Moyang Tower is inside Yuanyang Lake Park, and its history exhibition focuses on the local story of the Moyang area and Yangjiang life. Visitors who want a clear introduction to the city can make this their main museum stop and add the park walk before or after the visit.
The main museum is in the Culture and Arts Centre. Its permanent displays are limited, but temporary exhibitions may be scheduled. If you have booked the main site, check what is showing on arrival before deciding whether to continue to Moyang Tower; do not assume that both sites have the same collection.
Who it suits
The museum suits visitors interested in local history, families, and anyone looking for an indoor cultural stop in the city. A city walk can connect Moyang Tower, Yuanyang Lake Park, and nearby streets. If your group has mixed interest in exhibitions, keep each site short and purposeful.
Build your day
A two-site short visit
Enter the main museum at the reserved time, check its temporary exhibition, then travel to Moyang Tower in Yuanyang Lake Park for the history display. The two sites require city travel, so complete the site with the stricter entry time first if your booking is late.
After the second site, walk around Yuanyang Lake Park or return to the city centre for food. A reservation for one site does not admit you to the other, and you should not start the transfer just before closing.
A half-day city culture route
Spend the morning at Moyang Tower and Yuanyang Lake Park, eat in the city, and decide whether the main museum fits the afternoon’s reservation and exhibition schedule. If you also want Nan’en Street or Xilai Historic Street, plan the museum around its 16:00 last entry.
Get there
City transport and navigation
Drive to “Yangjiang Culture and Arts Centre” or “Yuanyang Lake Park”. City buses stop nearby, and a shared electric bike can be useful for the final section. Search with the full site name rather than only “Yangjiang Museum”, as map results can point to the wrong address.
Parking and walking
Parking is available around the Culture and Arts Centre and Yuanyang Lake Park, subject to the day’s signs. Park once and walk around the park and museum where possible; do not keep circling narrow city roads to find a space directly beside the entrance.
Know before you go
Reservations, identity documents, and closure
Free entry still requires a reservation. Bring the required identity document, avoid Monday unless it is a public holiday with confirmed opening, and remember that entry stops at 16:00.
Check the exhibition and open areas when you reach the first site. Temporary content can change, and the main museum should not be described as a fixed large permanent display. If one site changes its schedule, use Yuanyang Lake Park or the city streets as an alternative.
City food and walking
Yangjiang white-cut chicken, pig-intestine rolls (猪肠碌), fermented black beans, and goose rice are local options around Nan’en Street and other city restaurants. Opening hours and queues vary, so decide where to eat after the museum visit rather than building the route around one named shop.
