Qu Yuan's Hometown Cultural Tourism Zone is on Phoenix Mountain in Maoping Town, Zigui County. The daytime visit focuses on Qu Yuan Temple, the relocated historic buildings, and the Gaoxia Pinghu Viewpoint (高峡平湖观景台). Daytime hours are about 08:00–17:00, with entry stopping at 16:30; admission is about CNY 80. Plan the day and night visits as separate time and ticket arrangements.
Night visits currently run around 18:00–21:00. Jiuge Lane at the foot of the mountain is a free street area suitable for dinner. Whether the Chusao Xiu · Jiuge Dadian (《楚骚秀·九歌大典》) is running, along with its price and session, must be checked by date; 18:00–21:00 is a night-visit window, not a fixed performance schedule.
Who it suits
This area suits visitors interested in Qu Yuan culture, relocated historic architecture, and Three Gorges river views. A quick route takes about 1.5–2 hours and a complete route about 3–4 hours. Because the site includes slopes, groups with older adults or visitors with limited mobility should confirm whether the sightseeing cart is operating and how it is charged that day.

Qu Yuan Temple
Qu Yuan Temple is the daytime core. Start with the temple buildings, inscriptions, and displays related to Qu Yuan. It suits culture-focused visitors and anyone who wants to complete the representative sights in a shorter visit; the open exhibition rooms follow the day's arrangement.
Xiajiang Historic Buildings
The area has 24 Qing-dynasty buildings relocated from an inundated area, with grey-brick walls, dark tiles, and stone bridges as the main visual features. The number describes the scale of the building group and does not mean that all 24 operate as independent exhibition halls; visit the sections open to the public that day.
Gaoxia Pinghu Viewpoint (高峡平湖观景台)
The viewpoint looks toward the Three Gorges Dam and the river, making it a natural finish for the complete route. Morning mist, clouds, and visibility change the view, so use the clearer part of the day when possible. A clear dam view or a fixed sunset effect is not guaranteed.
Jiuge Lane and the night visit
Jiuge Lane is at the foot of the mountain, with Chu-style buildings, night lighting, and food. Its access pattern differs from the daytime mountain route. Even if no night performance is open, the street can still be used as an evening stop.

Quick daytime route
Go uphill from the Phoenix Mountain entrance, visit Qu Yuan Temple, continue through the Xiajiang Historic Buildings, and finish at the Gaoxia Pinghu Viewpoint (高峡平湖观景台). Allow about 1.5–2 hours. This suits visitors with limited time who want the cultural core and river view; whether the sightseeing cart covers the route follows the day's arrangement.
Complete daytime route
Start at Qu Yuan Square and continue through Jingxian Gate, Qianshan Bridge, Qu Yuan Temple, the Xiajiang Historic Buildings, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Lane before finishing at the Gaoxia Pinghu Viewpoint (高峡平湖观景台). Allow about 3–4 hours. This order links entrance architecture, a historic bridge, the temple, and the viewpoint; follow the attraction's exit signs for the return.
Night route
Have dinner and see the street lighting in Jiuge Lane first, then choose the Chusao Xiu · Jiuge Dadian (《楚骚秀·九歌大典》) or another performance if it is open that day. Check the performance session and ticket separately; 18:00–21:00 is only a night-visit window and does not establish a fixed show schedule.
Get there
Public transport
Bus 809 runs from Yichang East Railway Station or the long-distance coach station to Zigui. Bus 809 takes about 1 hour and costs about CNY 17, followed by the trip to the attraction entrance. Confirm the last connection and night-return service separately; a daytime arrival route does not establish the evening return.
Driving and parking
From central Yichang, take the Fanba Expressway S68 and exit at “Zigui/Maoping.” The drive is about 50 minutes. South Gate parking is about CNY 15–20/day and may have charging points; the charge, available spaces, and night departure conditions follow the day's parking arrangement.

Tickets and documents
Admission is about CNY 80. Student discounts and tourist-pass rules may change. Overseas visitors should carry the original passport and confirm the real-name purchase and entry method through the current channel. A sightseeing cart may be offered; whether it operates, whether it charges, and the exact price follow the day's on-site arrangement.
Holidays and weather
Road, ticketing, and hillside walking pressure in Zigui can change during Dragon Boat Festival and other holidays. Visibility at the Gaoxia Pinghu Viewpoint (高峡平湖观景台) depends on weather. In rain or high heat, adjust the time spent on the slopes to the group's energy and stay out of closed areas.
Combining it with the Three Gorges Dam
Qu Yuan's Hometown and the Three Gorges Dam can be placed in the same Yichang itinerary, but their entrances, tickets, real-name procedures, and road time are separate. A same-day combination depends on booking, opening, transport, and the group's energy; “one in the morning and one in the afternoon” is not a fixed template.
