Address and suggested visit time
Yingkou Museum is at No. 21 Shaoniangongli, Lühemen Street, Zhanqian District, Yingkou. Allow about 1 hour. It works as a separate cultural stop in the city; Liaohe Old Street and Jinniushan Prehistoric Site are separate visits and are not part of this museum.
Admission and opening arrangements
Admission is free. Ctrip currently lists the museum as open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. A January 2026 report on revised opening hours instead stated that the museum was open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with last admission at 3:30 pm; at that time, the “Yingkou Ancient Civilization Exhibition” was closed on Mondays for conservation work. The Monday arrangements and opening hours differ between these sources. Holiday hours and which galleries are open that day also need to be confirmed. Check with the museum before setting out, especially on Mondays and public holidays.

Choose your visit
Ancient Civilization Exhibition
The “Yingkou Ancient Civilization Exhibition” uses local archaeological finds and historical artifacts to tell the story of the area from remote antiquity through later historical periods. Museum talks have featured representative objects from the exhibition, but gallery contents may change. It is suited to visitors interested in regional archaeology and artifacts.
Modern History Exhibition
The “Yingkou Modern History Exhibition” covers the port city’s opening to trade and its modern development. A museum event in May 2026 focused on representative collections from this exhibition and the Ancient Civilization Exhibition. It suits visitors who want to learn about Yingkou’s history as a city before looking at its artifacts.
Ceramics, bronzes, and local memories
Highlights include ceramics, bronzes, and modern-era artifacts, which offer ways to explore local history through their dates, craftsmanship, and context. Displays may change; after entering, check the day’s gallery information and exhibit labels before deciding what to focus on.
For a separate visit to Xipaotai’s Qing-era coastal defences, see Xipaotai Heritage Park.
Build your day
An hour inside the museum
Enter through the main entrance, go through security screening, and then register at the service desk; follow the procedures and gallery openings in effect that day. Once confirmed, visit the modern history and ancient civilization galleries, then leave through the entrance you used. Allow about 1 hour in total; a guided talk or temporary exhibition may make the visit longer.
Confirm Monday gallery access first
Earlier opening information says that some galleries were open on Mondays, while the Ancient Civilization Exhibition was then closed for conservation. If visiting on a Monday, confirm which galleries are open before deciding whether to go. Museum entry does not necessarily mean that every gallery is open.
Get there
Navigation address
Search for “营口博物馆” (Yingkou Museum) or “营口市站前区履合门街少年宫里21号” (No. 21 Shaoniangongli, Lühemen Street, Zhanqian District, Yingkou) in your map app. At the 少年宫 (Shaonian Gong) building, follow the signs to the museum entrance. Once inside, choose galleries by following the day’s visitor guide rather than planning a floor order in advance.
Bus and parking
On the day of your visit, check buses serving the “Shaonian Gong” stop and verify the route against a map or stop sign. It has not been confirmed whether parking inside the Shaonian Gong building is available to visitors, or what spaces and fees apply; confirm parking access before driving.
Know before you go
Overseas ID and registration
Public entry information mentions going through security and registering at the service desk, but does not specify how foreign passports or Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan travel documents are handled. Visitors from overseas can call 0417-2835170 or 0417-2802593 in advance to ask about accepted identification, reservations, and which galleries are open that day. These numbers are listed on a travel platform and may no longer be active; call to check whether they connect.
Specific artifacts and gallery floors
The Ancient Civilization Exhibition has previously featured a bronze mirror with a phoenix motif and the inscription “Yi Zi Sun” (宜子孙, expressing a wish for descendants’ prosperity), along with Liao and Jin dynasty artifacts, but it has not been confirmed whether these objects are currently on display. If you are visiting for a particular object, check the current exhibition information. Follow the day’s visitor guide for gallery floors and the order of the visit.
Photography and accessible facilities
There is no reliable current information about photography rules, elevators, wheelchair routes, toilets, or luggage storage. If you need any of these facilities, check with the museum before setting out; once there, follow gallery notices and staff directions.
