1.5–2 hours: caves only
Entrance → Dreamy Cave → Shuanglong Cave, optional → viewing platform at the cave exit → return. When time is limited, make Dreamy Cave the main stop and decide about Shuanglong Cave based on the queue and your group’s energy.
The cave temperature is listed at about 18°C, which feels much cooler than outside in summer. The floor is damp, so wear shoes with good grip and bring a light jacket rather than entering in sandals.
Six to eight hours: a Fengkai geology day
Visit Daban Stone in the morning, eat Xinghua chicken in Xinghua Town, walk Thousand-Layer Peak in the afternoon and return to Longshan for the caves in the evening. This covers giant rock, sandstone peaks and karst caves, but each stop is limited to its main highlights. Do not leave Longshan until just before last entry.
If you are transferring from Daban Stone or Thousand-Layer Peak, ask about the next guide group at Longshan first. A delay at the previous stop or a long lunch can push the cave visit later, so leave time for the wait.
Two days and one night: separate the Hejiang route and geology
Day 1: Hejiang Greenway, Daban Stone and an overnight stay. Day 2: Longshan caves, Thousand-Layer Peak and Yangchi Ancient Village. Accommodation or hot-spring services near Longshan are listed in the source material, but they are not automatically included with admission; confirm them separately when booking.
This itinerary is much easier by car. Fengkai’s attractions are spread out, and public buses are limited. Visitors without a car should arrange a chartered or shared vehicle instead of relying on taxis outside the scenic areas.

Cave route: join the guide before entering
Entrance → Dreamy Cave → Shuanglong Cave → viewing platform at the cave exit → return. Dreamy Cave includes themed sections such as the Underwater Dragon Palace blue-light tunnel and the Eight Immortals Forest. Shuanglong Cave is more focused on natural stalactites, stalagmites and columns.
The guide-group time can change the order of the visit. Ask when the next group begins, then decide whether to rest near the entrance or see the outside viewpoint first. Do not enter the cave separately from the assigned group.
Geology day: leave Longshan for the last stop
Daban Stone → lunch in Xinghua Town → Thousand-Layer Peak → Longshan Scenic Area. The roadside pavilions near Daban Stone provide a free outside view of the giant rock; decide whether to buy entry based on the day’s plan. Thousand-Layer Peak involves walking and water-side areas, so wear shoes suited to wet ground from the morning onward.
After arriving at Longshan, deal with entry and the guide group first. Follow the photography signs in the caves. Even where photography is allowed, do not block the group in narrow passages.
Two-day route: Hejiang on the first day
Day 1: Hejiang Greenway and the First Bend of the Hejiang, then Daban Stone and an overnight stay in Jiangkou Town. Day 2: Longshan caves, Thousand-Layer Peak and Yangchi Ancient Village. Guangxin Tower can add a cultural stop if it fits the return direction.
The boat, bamboo raft and seasonal flowers along the Hejiang route depend on the day, season and water level. Treat them as flexible first-day options rather than letting one boat departure determine the whole two-day plan.
Get there
Driving is the practical option
The drive from the Pearl River Delta to Fengkai takes about 2.5–3 hours. Use the scenic-area parking lot; parking is listed at about CNY 5 per car. The attractions require road transfers, so put the next site and its parking area into navigation rather than searching only by the county name.
From Yunan Railway Station or Wuzhou South Railway Station, take a taxi or coach to Fengkai County, then arrange a chartered or shared vehicle to Heerkou Town. Public transport is inconvenient. Visitors without a car should confirm the return vehicle before entering rather than trying to call one at the exit.
Use the combined ticket within the same route
The Longshan, Daban Stone and Thousand-Layer Peak combination ticket is listed at about CNY 100 and valid for about two days. If you are only visiting Longshan, a single ticket is simpler. If you plan two or more attractions, compare the combination ticket with the time and route you actually have.
Parking, the cave-guide meeting point and the exit are not necessarily the same place. After parking, confirm the guide meeting area and return direction. If you still need to reach Thousand-Layer Peak or a county-town meal, include the guide wait in the transfer time.
