Plan at a glance

The north gate is easier for a first visit

Sihui Qishi River is in Weizhen Town, Sihui. Use “Sihui Qishi River Scenic Area North Gate Parking Lot” for navigation. Allow 2–4 hours for a normal visit. Add the aerial rafting activity or Zhenshan and the traditional paper-making village and you can spend a full day.

Opening hours are listed as 08:30–17:30. The aerial glass rafting runs 09:00–17:30 and the glass bridge 08:30–17:30. The south gate stops ticket sales at 16:00, while the north gate stops at 17:00. Arrive before 14:00 if possible.

Adult admission is listed at about CNY 60, with online discounts varying. A ticket including the Silver Dragon Glass Bridge and aerial rafting is listed at about CNY 128–150. Advance reservation is not compulsory. If you want the paid activities, buying in advance makes the budget easier to control, but rafting may stop when water levels are unsuitable.

Choose your visit

Two to three hours: easy north-gate route

North gate → riverside path → Silver Dragon Waterfall → suspension bridge → glass bridge → health boardwalk → north gate. The north gate is closer to the main sights, and most of the route is level with tree cover. It suits families and visitors who do not want a long hike.

The glass bridge is optional and depends on your comfort level. A walk through the waterfall, stream and boardwalk sections is already a complete forest visit.

Three to four hours: south gate in, north gate out

South gate → Qishi First Beach → glass bridge → Silver Dragon Waterfall → health boardwalk → north gate. The route is longer and suits visitors who want more stream and rock scenery, but you must plan how to return to the car if it is parked at the south gate.

The south gate stops selling tickets at 16:00, so a late arrival is not suitable for this route. First-time drivers should usually park at the north gate unless they already know how they will return from north to south.

Half a day: family stream and water route

North gate → Ten-Li Qishi Shoal → natural clear-water pool → century-old waterwheel group → aerial glass rafting → return. The shallow shoal is suitable for paddling and looking for small fish. Children joining the rafting activity need spare clothes and a waterproof phone pouch.

Storage lockers for rafting are listed at about CNY 30 each and can be shared by several people. Water levels may stop the rafting, so treat it as optional rather than making the entire day depend on the ride.

Build your day

North-gate highlights route

North gate → riverside path → Silver Dragon Waterfall → suspension bridge → glass bridge → health boardwalk. The order is straightforward: see the natural scenery first, then decide whether to add the glass bridge.

After rain, the waterfall may have more water, but the spray and wet ground also increase. Take photographs from stable ground and wear shoes with good grip rather than trying to stand close to the water curtain.

South-gate hiking route

South gate → Qishi First Beach → glass bridge → Silver Dragon Waterfall → health boardwalk → north gate. Enter in the morning. If someone in the group is tiring, turn back after the waterfall or follow the on-site return route rather than forcing the full walk.

The two gates have different ticket-stop times, so confirm which gate you will use to exit. Supplies are limited; carry water and snacks from the start instead of waiting until the second half to look for a shop.

Deal with tickets and lockers together

After entering, locate the glass bridge, rafting entrance and lockers before deciding whether to buy the combination ticket. The glass bridge and rafting are extra activities; the basic admission does not include every paid item.

Keep your phone, wallet and spare clothes secure before getting into the water. Mobile signal can be weak in the mountains, so carry a little cash and agree on a meeting point if the group separates.

Get there

Drive to the north-gate parking lot

The drive from Guangzhou or Foshan takes about 1.5–2 hours. Use “Sihui Qishi River Scenic Area North Gate Parking Lot.” North-gate parking is listed at about CNY 10 for 24 hours, with relatively good availability. For a first visit, parking at the north gate makes the short route easier to follow.

By public transport, travel from Guangzhou or Foshan to Sihui Bus Station and then change to a Weizhen Town bus. From Zhaoqing East Railway Station, a taxi takes about 40 minutes. Public transport is not very convenient, so arrange the return before starting the walk.

Match the entrance and exit

North in and north out is the simplest plan. If you enter at the south gate and leave at the north gate, arrange how to return to the south parking area. The waterfall, glass bridge and boardwalk are connected by footpaths, but the entrances are not the same car park.

If you arrive after 16:00, the south gate has already stopped ticket sales. Choose the north-gate short route and ask whether the glass bridge and rafting are operating before paying for them.

Know before you go

Water activities and weather

Mountain paths, waterfall edges and the shoal are slippery after rain. Wear river-trail shoes or walking shoes with good grip. For rafting, bring spare clothes, a waterproof phone pouch and a small towel, and do not leave valuables in open pockets.

Rafting, the glass bridge and some facilities depend on water levels, weather and on-site operation. Ask what is running after arrival, then decide between a single ticket and a combination ticket. Do not join a suspended activity simply because you have already paid.

Supplies and timing

There are few shops, and farm restaurants around the scenic area are limited. Bring drinking water, snacks and a picnic mat. Mountain signal can be weak, so a little cash is useful for lockers, small purchases and unexpected transport.

The south gate stops ticket sales at 16:00 and the north gate at 17:00. Arrive before 14:00 if possible. Even the north-gate short route needs time for photographs, queues, changing clothes and collecting the car.
