Swallow Rock has forest, spinulose tree ferns, waterfalls, and rock caves. The cableway can reduce effort when operating, but recent official notices have repeatedly mentioned cableway suspension.
Prepare for a forest walk
If the cableway is not operating, plan the visit as a walking route up and down the mountain. Focus on Swallow Rock Waterfall, Source of Life, the tree-fern forest, and the creek valley.
Treat Swallow Rock as a quieter add-on
Swallow Rock is less crowded than the Great Waterfall and suits travelers who like forest, waterfalls, plants, and slower trails. If you only want the most dramatic waterfall view, prioritize the Great Waterfall.
Pair it with the Great Waterfall only when time and conditions allow
Swallow Rock is relatively close to the Great Waterfall, so the two can be combined on the same day if you have enough time. If the cableway is suspended or the weather is poor, do not force it into the same day.
