How to Visit
1

Treat Huangguoshu as Anshun's main full-day trip

Plan for a CNY 160 daytime adult ticket, with the sightseeing bus charged separately at CNY 50. The Grand Escalator is optional, CNY 50 round trip or CNY 30 one way.

Tip:The Huangguoshu ticket covers the Great Waterfall, Tianxingqiao, and Doupotang, but the three areas are far apart, so the sightseeing bus is usually necessary.
2

Decide early whether to enter Water Curtain Cave

Water Curtain Cave requires real-name timed reservation through Anlvtong and is capped at 6,000 visitors per day. If you cannot reserve it, you can still see the waterfall front view and the other scenic areas.

Tip:The cave walkway is narrow, wet, and misty, and queues can be long at peak times, so do not treat it as something you can always add on site.
3

Use the order Tianxingqiao - Doupotang - Great Waterfall

Tianxingqiao takes the most walking, so it works best in the morning. Doupotang is easy and fits well as a middle stop. The Great Waterfall has the strongest visual impact in the afternoon.

Tip:In peak season, the Great Waterfall and Doupotang usually run about 07:00-18:30, while Tianxingqiao usually runs about 07:00-18:00.
4

Leave enough time for mist and queues at the Great Waterfall

The front viewing area, Rhinoceros Pool, and Water Curtain Cave can all get you wet, so a raincoat, anti-slip shoes, and phone protection are useful.

Tip:If you want an easier visit, walk down to see the waterfall, then decide whether to take the escalator back up.
Highlights
  • Huangguoshu Great Waterfall is the main sight in this scenic area and works well for first-time visitors to Guizhou.
  • You can view the waterfall from the front, side, and lower areas, with strong mist when water volume is high.
  • Water Curtain Cave lets you pass behind the waterfall, but the experience depends on reservation and queue time.
  • Rhinoceros Pool is useful for full waterfall views.
  • Combining it with Tianxingqiao and Doupotang in one day gives the most efficient route.
Insider Tips

Do not buy only the entrance ticket and skip the sightseeing bus; walking between the three core areas is not practical.

There are many steps near the Great Waterfall, and anti-slip shoes matter most after rain or in misty areas.

Water Curtain Cave reservation is valid for the selected day, so match the time slot with your actual route.

In peak season, do not leave the last stop too late, because Tianxingqiao usually closes earlier than the Great Waterfall and Doupotang.

From Guiyang, taking high-speed rail to Anshun West Station and then a scenic-area shuttle is steadier than taking a taxi the whole way.
