How to Visit
1

Treat it as a quiet east-coast beach stop

Shell Beach sits on the east side of Weizhou Island and is included once you have entered the island. It is best for a walk, beach time, and a calmer coastline feel.

Tip:It is better as a relaxed route stop than as the main reason to cross to Weizhou Island.
2

Reach it by scooter or island ring road transport

The beach has multiple access points along the coast. A scooter gives the most flexibility, especially if you are combining it with Shengtang Catholic Church or Wucai Beach.

Tip:Choose your access point based on the rest of your east-coast route instead of trying to cover the entire shoreline.
3

Go for sunrise if you are staying nearby

If your accommodation is on the east side, Shell Beach can work well for sunrise. Otherwise, visit it as an easy sand-and-sea stop during the day.

Tip:A sunrise visit is only worth the early start if your lodging and transport make it simple.
4

Bring what you need before arriving

Facilities are relatively limited compared with busier beaches. Bring water, sun protection, and shoes that can handle broken coral or rough patches.

Tip:Do not count on full beach services, especially away from busier access points.
Highlights
  • A long, quieter stretch of Weizhou Island coastline.
  • Better for walking, beach texture, and a slower island mood than for a packed activity schedule.
  • Works well with east-side island stops such as Shengtang Catholic Church.
  • A useful choice when you want fewer crowds than the main sunset beaches.
Insider Tips

Do not take protected coral, volcanic stones, or marine materials from the beach.

Walk carefully on broken coral, reef edges, and uneven beach surfaces.

Shops and toilets can be limited, so prepare before you arrive.

It is quieter than the island's sunset beaches, but also less serviced.
