Beihai Underwater World

Use it as a family-friendly half-day city attraction

Beihai Underwater World is inside Haibin Park and works well for families, hot weather, or rainy days. A full visit with exhibits and shows takes about 3-4 hours, so do not leave only one rushed hour.

Check the day's show schedule when you enter

Mermaid shows, sea lion or seal shows, and ray-related performances are major draws for many visitors, but showtimes follow the day's posted schedule. Confirm the times first, then plan your route around them.

Arrive early for popular shows

If you want a clear view of the mermaid or marine animal shows, arrive at the venue at least 15-20 minutes early. On holidays, late arrivals may be blocked by people in front, and children may struggle to see.

Follow the zones instead of doubling back

The venue is fairly large, with areas such as the underwater tunnel, jellyfish displays, marine-life exhibits, and penguin or polar-themed sections. Following the on-site route saves energy, and comfortable shoes are better than beach sandals.

Use bus or taxi from the city

You can take a city bus to the Haibin Park or Underwater World area, and taxis are also easy. If you also plan Old Street or a city meal that day, place the aquarium in the morning or early afternoon.
