How to Visit

Enter from the main gate or the metro side and plan to reach the summit before sunset
Qifeng Park is at 1 Qifeng Road, Dongcheng. From Qifeng Park Station (旗峰公园站), Line 2, use Exit D or E and walk around five minutes to the main gate. The park is free and generally open 06:00-21:30.
Tip:This is a short urban hike rather than a full-day destination. Enter early enough in the afternoon to see the lake, reach the summit, and come down before it becomes too late.

Follow the order of Qifeng Lake, Huangqi Guanyin Ancient Temple, Yufeng Platform, and the Red Lantern viewpoint
From the main gate, pass Qifeng Lake and the ancient temple, rest near Yufeng Platform, then climb the stone steps to the Red Lantern viewpoint. Allow around 1.5-2 hours for the gentler route. Huangqi Guanyin Ancient Temple generally charges around CNY 5.
Tip:Visiting the lower park and temple before climbing spreads the physical effort. Going straight to the summit means missing the flatter parts that are better for a pause.

Use the sightseeing vehicle if needed, but still allow for steps and the descent
A one-way sightseeing vehicle costs around CNY 5 and reaches the mid-mountain area, followed by around 20 minutes of stone steps to the viewpoint. When travelling with children or older relatives, decide on the vehicle and whether to stay after sunset according to the group's energy.
Tip:The vehicle does not remove the final climb, and the summit can be windy while the path down is later in the day. Do not let an easy uphill ride make you overlook return time or the need for non-slip shoes.
