Choose an entry point based on your plan, rather than treating Songshan Lake as one gated attraction
Use the University Road entrance for a short walk, or start near Binhu Square for cycling. From Songshan Lake North Railway Station, take a taxi or bus 328 towards the lake area. The open lake district is free and normally needs no reservation.
Tip:Songshan Lake is an open lake area with different access points for different activities. Decide whether you want to walk, cycle, or take children to a rest area before arriving, so you do not lose time crossing the lake area.

For a short visit, stay around Charles Bridge and the lakeside lawn; for cycling, set a turnaround point
If time is limited, enter from the University Road side and visit Charles Bridge and nearby lakeside areas, allowing 2-3 hours. For cycling, start at Binhu Square and choose Charles Bridge, Sunshine Beach, or the Kangqiao direction according to your energy, without trying to complete the whole lake loop.
Tip:The full circuit is around 25-28 kilometres. It is mostly gentle but still long, so a planned turnaround point prevents the later sections from using up both your energy and return time.

View the Huawei-area buildings only from public greenways, and allow for supplies, sun, and your return
Use public paths and bridges to view the buildings across the lake, but do not try to enter Huawei's campus or leave permitted paths. The lake area can be entered throughout the day, but facilities such as the small train keep separate operating hours. Carry water, snacks, sun protection, and insect repellent.
Tip:This is not a single closed scenic area with one operator. Huawei's campus is not open to visitors, and shops along the route are unreliable, so build your plan around public paths and what you can carry.

✦Songshan Lake has no single gate, ticket system, or fixed route for the entire area. Plan around your chosen entry point and activity.
✦Do not believe anyone offering access to Huawei's campus. Stay on public lakeside greenways and legal viewing areas.
✦Before cycling, confirm where the vehicle comes from, where it must be returned, and its battery range. Do not rent far from the core lake area and then spend a long ride reaching it.
✦The greenway has limited shade and strong midday sun. A hat, sun-protective layer, water, and insect repellent are important.
✦The small train and similar facilities are not necessary for moving around the lake and have separate operating times. Do not make one your only return plan.
✦Some Kangqiao photo locations have barriers and access restrictions. Follow the marked route and do not cross barriers or enter closed grass areas.
