Start at Yongqing Fang
Begin at the Yongqing Fang (永庆坊) complex at the Enning Road entrance. Explore the Moon Bridge, Bruce Lee Ancestral Home, and Cantonese Opera Museum before walking the main arcade street.
Walk the Best-Preserved Arcade Street
Stroll along Enning Road's main thoroughfare — lined with the finest surviving examples of Lingnan arcade (骑楼) architecture in the city. The blend of Qing Dynasty, Republic-era, and early modern Western-influenced buildings tells Guangzhou's story through its built environment.
Detour to Copper Craft Street
Turn down the side alley Copper Craft Street (铜器街) — a short lane historically lined with brass and copper craft shops. One of Guangzhou's last surviving craftsman's streets. Browse handmade brass items or simply soak in the artisan atmosphere.
Walk to Liwan Lake Park
Continue west along Enning Road to reach Liwan Lake Park (荔湾湖公园). The walk takes 5-10 minutes. From the park's north gate, photograph the traditional pavilions reflected in the lake before entering.
Sunset: Walk to Shamian Island
From Liwan Lake Park's west exit, a pleasant 10-minute walk leads to Shamian Island (沙面岛) to catch the sunset over its European architecture. This completes a perfect full-day western Guangzhou heritage walk.
