How to Visit
1

Enter via the West Gate

Take Metro Line 2 to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station (纪念堂站), Exit C or D. Walk directly to the West Gate — the metro exit is moments from the entrance. Start with a photo at the 5.5m bronze Sun Yat-sen statue in the central plaza.

The park is free to enter; only the main building requires a ticket
2

Admire the Song Dynasty-Style Architecture

Look up at the main building — azure glazed tile roof (宝蓝色琉璃瓦) paired with vermillion columns and doors (朱红色) is stunning. The interior is a massive column-free space with a dome soaring 45m high. On sunny days, light filters through the stained glass windows creating beautiful patterns.

The dome interior is most photogenic during morning hours
3

Explore the Three-Floor Exhibitions

Visit the permanent exhibitions on all three floors covering Sun Yat-sen's life, the hall's construction history, and memorial halls across China. Free guided broadcasts run at set times — check at the entrance.

Allow 45-60 minutes for the full exhibition tour
4

Visit the Kapok Tree and Surrounding Grounds

In the park grounds, find the 300-year-old kapok tree (百岁木棉王) — when in bloom (March), it covers itself in red blossoms and is a favorite for photographers. The ornamental pillars (云鹤华表) and commemorative tripod (纪念鼎) at the east and west sides add to the solemn atmosphere.

Best photo season: mid-March when the kapok tree blooms
