How to Visit
1

Use Qingyun Market as an evening food and walking stop

Qingyun Market is free to enter. The street area can be reached during the day, but the atmosphere is much better after dusk. Snacks, restaurants, and lights work best after 16:00, with 19:00-22:00 being the busiest period.

Tip:You can visit during the day, but the experience is much weaker than at night.
2

Arrive from Hebin Park Station or by short city taxi

Take Metro Line 1 to Hebin Park Station, then walk about 10-15 minutes. If you are coming from Jiaxiu Pavilion, Penshuichi, or a central hotel, a short taxi ride is usually more direct.

Tip:Driving is not recommended. Evening parking is tight, and old-city roads nearby can be congested.
3

Walk the main street first, then decide where to queue

After arriving, walk the main street once to see snacks, luoguo, sour soup dishes, grilled fish, small shops, and photo spots before choosing what to eat. Do not spend a long time queueing at the first busy stall you see.

Tip:Qingyun Market works best for eating as you walk, not for locking your whole visit into one restaurant immediately.
4

Pair it with Jiaxiu Pavilion night views

If you are already in the old city, see Jiaxiu Pavilion or the Nanming River night view first, then go to Qingyun Market for food. They fit well into the same evening and do not need separate trips.

Tip:When it is crowded at night, watch your belongings and avoid filming for too long in narrow lanes.
Highlights
  • Qingyun Market is useful for experiencing Guiyang's evening food and old-city consumer scene.
  • The neon entrance, old factory spaces, and street lighting are better for photos at night.
  • Luoguo, sour soup dishes, tofu balls, grilled fish, and small snacks are good for sharing in a group.
  • Creative shops and small stores are better treated as after-dinner extras than the main reason to come.
  • It is close enough to Jiaxiu Pavilion, the Nanming River, and old-city hotels to work as an evening finish.
Insider Tips

Go with some appetite, but do not arrive starving, because popular shops may require queues.

Weekends from 19:00 to 22:00 are the busiest. For easier photos, go on a weekday evening.

Ask prices first for fruit, small stalls, and items without clear price tags.

Guiyang flavors can be sour and spicy. Tell staff in advance if you cannot eat spicy food.

Qingyun Market works best for 1.5-2 hours. Do not rely on one market for the whole evening.
