How to Visit
1

Decide what role North Peak plays in your route

North Peak can be the main stop for a North-up, North-down visit, or the descent point on a West-up, North-down route.

Tip:If you only want a shorter Huashan experience, taking the North Peak cableway both ways is easier than completing all five peaks.
2

Visit the summit area after arriving by cableway

The North Peak summit is relatively open. You can cover Yuntai Peak, Zhenwu Temple, the Liberation of Huashan Monument, and nearby points.

Tip:This area works well as the main stop for visitors with limited stamina.
3

Recheck your stamina before continuing upward

Continuing from North Peak toward Central Peak, East Peak, South Peak, and West Peak involves demanding sections such as Canglong Ridge.

Tip:Do not assume that reaching North Peak means the full route will be easy.
4

Allow time for the cableway and shuttle connection

After taking the North Peak cableway down, you still need to connect with exit transport back to the visitor center.

Tip:In peak season, queues can extend the return, so do not treat the last section as something that ends in a few minutes.
Highlights
  • North Peak, also called Yuntai Peak, is the lower and more accessible of the five peaks.
  • From North Peak, you can look back toward East, West, and South Peaks and understand the layout of the main peak area.
  • The Huashan Sword Debate stone is one of North Peak's most recognizable photo spots.
  • Zhenwu Temple gives North Peak a clear Daoist cultural element.
  • The Liberation of Huashan Monument adds a modern historical layer to the visit.
Insider Tips

North Peak suits visitors with limited time or stamina. It does not need to be presented as the full Huashan experience.

A North-up, North-down route usually costs less than a West Peak cableway route, but it also covers a smaller part of the main peak area.

If you continue upward from North Peak, sections such as Canglong Ridge will add real physical effort.

Water and simple meals cost more on the mountain, so bring a small amount of supplies.

Keep warm while waiting in descent queues. After sweating, wind can make you feel cold quickly.
