Area, transport and opening pattern
Daya Bay includes the coastal areas of Xiayong, Aotou and Xiaojing Bay. Golden Coast, Xiayong Seafood Market and Xiaojing Bay are the main practical anchors. Most beaches, greenways and wetland parks are free, while some watersports charge separately; many sites can be visited throughout the day.
The drive takes about one hour from Shenzhen and about two hours from Guangzhou. From Huiyang Station or Huizhou South Station, taxis take around 30 minutes to Xiayong or Xiaojing Bay. Daya Bay bus routes 188, 189 and 201 serve Golden Coast.

One-day easy route
Qingquan Ancient Temple → lunch at Xiayong Seafood Market → Golden Coast → Wutou Mountain Greenway at sunset. The sequence moves naturally from inland temple, to market, to beach and evening cycling.
Two days and one night
Day one: Golden Coast beach and lighthouse → Wutou Mountain Greenway cycling → Xiayong Seafood Street. Day two: Xiaojing Bay pier → mangrove wetland park → Aotou Pier. This keeps beach, cycling and wetlands from becoming rushed.
Family tidal-flat route
Golden Coast shallow water → Huzhou Island tidal-flat activity → Yaqian Greenway picnic → seafood dinner. Plan tidal-flat activity for one to two hours before low tide, and use non-slip shoes on wet rocks.

One-day coastal route
Qingquan Ancient Temple → Xiayong Seafood Market → Golden Coast → Wutou Mountain Greenway. Use Golden Coast for water and beach time, then keep the greenway for evening cycling and sunset.
Two-day bay route
Golden Coast → Wutou Mountain Greenway → Xiayong Seafood Street; next day, Xiaojing Bay → Mangrove Wetland Park → Aotou Pier. This avoids repeated backtracking between the southern beach and the northern bay stops.
Tidal-flat and greenway route
Golden Coast → Huzhou Island intertidal area → Yaqian Greenway. Tide, safety and energy level determine the tidal-flat duration; the greenway is a useful outdoor alternative when you do not want to enter the water.

Driving and parking
Driving is the most practical option, with parking around CNY 10–40 per day depending on the stop. At Golden Coast, navigate to the official car park, which costs about CNY 20 for two hours. Xiayong Seafood Market parking is around CNY 10 per visit, while Xiaojing Bay parking should be planned ahead.
High-speed rail and buses
From Huiyang Station or Huizhou South Station, taxis take around 30 minutes. Daya Bay routes 188, 189 and 201 stop at Golden Coast, after which you can continue along the coast.
Know before you go
Seafood, taxis and parking
Buy seafood at Aotou Qianjin Bay Seafood Market or Xiayong seafood stalls, then agree processing charges before cooking. Holiday taxi dispatch can be slow and expensive; do not accept added “service fees”. When driving, avoid private roadside car parks.
Coastal and tidal-flat safety
The coast has strong sun, while mangroves and tidal flats have mosquitoes, so bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Wear non-slip footwear for tidal-flat activity, stay away from outer cliff edges and leave rocks before the tide returns. After 16:00 is better for coastal photography.
