Plan at a glance
Enter through the visitor service center
The official visit to Hulun Lake (呼伦湖) starts at the visitor service center. Navigate to the Hulun Lake Visitor Service Center near Tonghu Road in Jalainur (扎赉诺尔, also written Zhalainuoer) District and park in its lot. Buy both the admission and shuttle tickets there, then take the scenic-area vehicle to the core visitor area. Pasture tracks and unopened shorelines are not part of this route.
Plan a half-day by the lake
A visit usually takes 3–5 hours. Boat rides, the beach, fishing platforms, and the pool depend on the season, weather, and operating arrangements. Before setting out, confirm opening dates, last entry, and the final shuttle, and note where to board for the return trip.

Choose your visit
Lake views and grassland shore
Hulun Lake is known for its open water and grassland shoreline. Take an unhurried stop in an officially open viewing area for the horizon and waves near shore. The lake is also an important bird habitat; keep your distance, do not play sounds to attract birds, and do not chase or feed waterbirds.
Beach, fishing platforms, and boat rides
Choose among the lakeside beach, fishing platforms, pool, and boat rides according to what the visitor center has open that day. Avoid swimming outside officially designated areas. If swimming facilities are open, follow the operator’s safety rules and stay within the supervised area.
A relaxed stop or a longer visit
For a simple lake view, stay in the open area near the shuttle stop. If you want a boat ride or another activity, allow time for queues and boarding. If someone in your group has limited mobility, ask staff about shuttle stops, distances between viewpoints, and accessible paths; do not assume every point along the shore is accessible.
Build your day
From the visitor center to the core lake area
On arrival, confirm admission, shuttle tickets, and which activities are open. Follow signs and take the vehicle to the core visitor area. First visit the open viewpoints, then choose a beach, fishing platform, or boat ride that is operating that day. At the end, follow signs back to the shuttle stop and ask staff for the last return service to the visitor center.
Half-day visit, about 3–5 hours
Allow about 3–5 hours in total for parking, tickets, waiting for the shuttle, time by the lake, and the return trip. Take the last shuttle back to the service center. Stay within the open visitor area; do not extend the route onto an unauthorized shoreline.
Get there
Navigate to the Tonghu Road visitor service center
Search for “呼伦湖游客服务中心” (Hulun Lake Visitor Service Center) or “达赉湖旅游区” (Dalai Lake Tourist Area), and set the official service center as your destination. Do not navigate to a private pasture entrance or an unopened shoreline. The visitor-center parking lot is the scenic-area shuttle transfer point. Public facility information lists a bus stop and 20 EV charging points; confirm that the chargers are currently available before relying on them.
Bus, hired car, and shuttle
There is a bus stop at the service center, but current routes and schedules could not be confirmed. Check same-day bus information for Jalainur District before setting out. Drivers and hired cars should use the scenic-area shuttle to reach the core area. Before returning, confirm the boarding point and last shuttle at the stop; do not rely on an unbooked pickup.
Know before you go
Check tickets and opening hours for the day
Different pages list different ticket prices and hours, and activities may change by season. Ask the scenic area whether admission, the shuttle, and boat rides are charged separately, and confirm last entry. Do not plan around old prices.
Stay within authorized open areas
The area around Hulun Lake is a nature reserve, with strict access controls in core and buffer zones. Visit only within the officially open scenic area and as staff direct. Do not drive onto pasture, private land, tire tracks, or unopened shorelines; do not collect stones from the shore or approach or feed wild birds.
Prepare for wind and bring water
Winds by the lake can be strong, and it can feel cold when temperatures drop. Bring a windproof jacket and sun protection. Pack water and a light meal; confirm whether food service at the visitor center is open that day, and arrange the shuttle, lodging, and return transport before leaving the lake area.
