Reservoir, park, and hillside paths

Sifeng Mountain is on the outskirts of Jiamusi, with a reservoir, lotus ponds, and hillside paths. Entry is free, no reservation is needed, and the park is open all day. Boat rides, skiing, and park shuttles have separate fees and operating hours.

How much time to allow

A walk from the main entrance to the suspension bridge and back takes about 1.5 hours. Allow 3–4 hours for a slower walk along the reservoir boardwalk, past the lotus ponds and viewpoints. Add time if you plan to take a boat, hike up the hill, or visit during ski season. These activities are not included with free park entry.

Choose your visit

Sifeng Reservoir and the lotus ponds

The reservoir is the park's main natural feature. Lotus flowers are usually at their best from July to August. In spring and autumn, you may see wetland birds, though sightings depend on the season and weather. The ponds can be busy on summer weekends; visit in the morning if you want to photograph the flowers.

Suspension bridge, boardwalk, and Wind Turbine Hill

The short walk from the main entrance to the suspension bridge looks over the reservoir and lotus ponds. Continue along the boardwalk for views of Wind Turbine Hill across the water. The bridge itself is a good place to photograph the structure and the water.

Skiing and dining in winter

Before visiting in winter, check whether Sifeng Mountain Ski Resort is operating, and confirm its runs and ticket arrangements. Sifeng Mountain Hotel is inside the park and serves dishes such as iron-pot stewed goose and pork ribs with chicken feet.

Build your day

A 1.5-hour suspension-bridge walk

Enter through the main gate and follow the main path to the suspension bridge. Stop to look over the reservoir and lotus ponds, then return the same way. If you would rather not walk back, ask whether the shuttle cart is running that day. It has previously charged about CNY 10 per ride; confirm the current fare and route before boarding.

A three-to-four-hour reservoir loop

From the entrance, walk first to the lotus pond, then continue along the reservoir boardwalk with views of Wind Turbine Hill across the water. Ask whether boat rides or park shuttles can shorten the walk. If you have the energy, continue uphill for views of the reservoir and city, then return to the entrance or parking area.

A winter ski visit

If you plan to ski, make the ski area the main activity of the day and confirm that it is open, along with the ticket options and equipment arrangements. Operations vary each year. If the ski area is closed, you can still use paths that are open that day.

Get there

From central Jiamusi

Navigate to “四丰山风景区 (Sifeng Mountain Scenic Area)” or the south entrance on 四丰路 (Sifeng Road). A taxi from the city center or railway station takes about 10–15 minutes and costs approximately CNY 10–15. Buses also serve the area; check which route goes to the park and when buses return before setting out.

Parking and moving around the park

There is free parking at the main entrance. You can walk from the entrance to the suspension bridge. The park also has shuttle carts, sightseeing vehicles, and electric mobility carts. An electric mobility cart has previously cost about CNY 50 per 30 minutes; confirm the current fare, route, and rental duration before using one.

Know before you go

Weather, walking, and the water's edge

There are many mosquitoes around the lotus ponds and lake in summer; bring insect repellent and sun protection. The full path is more strenuous than the short walk, so wear shoes with good grip. In spring and autumn, watch birds from open paths and keep away from nests. Shoreline, boardwalk, and ice conditions change with the weather. Do not enter the water, closed ice, or restricted paths.

Photography and food

Photograph the lotus pond when the flowers are in bloom, the water and distant hills from the boardwalk, and the bridge from nearby. Early morning and late afternoon have softer light. Sifeng Mountain Hotel serves iron-pot stewed goose and pork ribs with chicken feet. Back in the city, Lihua Wuyuan Stir-Fry & Dumplings Restaurant serves dishes such as crispy sweet-and-sour pork and a stir-fry of potato, eggplant, and green pepper. Check opening hours and prices with the restaurants. If you plan to return by taxi or shuttle, arrange the ride before you leave.
