The building exterior

The red-brick walls, arched windows, and entrance tower are the building's main exterior features. During the day, you can look at the façade and entrance details from outside. Be considerate of the surrounding site when taking photographs.

First-floor galleries and restored rooms upstairs

The full exhibition includes galleries on the Yan'an Decision and Strategic Relocation and the Hejiang Land Reform. Upstairs, restored provincial government offices and living quarters sit alongside exhibits such as the Northeast Daily. If you have limited time, the office rooms upstairs give a quick sense of how the site was used.

A visit for local and modern Chinese history

The historic building and exhibitions may interest visitors who want to learn about modern Northeast China and local history, and the museum can be combined with a walk through the city center. Weekday mornings tend to be quieter. If you only want to see the building, you can stop outside while the museum is closed, but the galleries will not be accessible.

For a separate Tongjiang heritage walk, see Tongjiang Heritage Walk.

For an open riverside route in central Jiamusi, see Jiamusi Riverside Walk.

Build your day

A 30-to-40-minute highlights route

After completing the required registration, go upstairs first to see the revolutionary history exhibits and restored office, then return to the first floor to visit the galleries or get a stamp. This route suits visitors on a tight schedule; arrive before the 16:00 last-entry time.

A one-hour full visit

Start on the first floor and follow the order of the ten themed galleries, focusing on the strategic relocation and Hejiang Land Reform exhibits. Then go upstairs to see the restored offices and living quarters and the Northeast Daily display. Allow extra time if a guided visit or additional exhibition is available.

Combine it with a city-center walk

Jiamusi Museum is about 1 km away and covers the city's broader history. A taxi between the two is about the local minimum fare; you can also walk. Continue to Riverside Park for a stroll or a meal. The museums have different schedules, so visit the one with a lunch break and closing time first. If you are here on a Monday, leave the time for a walk along the river.

Get there

Bus and walking

Take bus 2, 13, or 15 to 新玛特站 (New-Mart stop) or 中心医院站 (Central Hospital stop), then walk to the museum. Navigate to “合江省政府旧址博物馆 (Former Hejiang Provincial Government Site Museum).” The entrance is beside 新玛特商场 (New-Mart); follow the signs at the door.

Parking and nearby travel

Parking spaces dedicated to the museum and their fees have not been confirmed, so do not count on a space at the entrance. The museum is at a city intersection; you can be dropped nearby and walk the last stretch. After your visit, use the museum's opening hours to plan your next stop in the city.
