Plan at a glance

A separately ticketed panorama experience

The hall is a separately ticketed attraction within Jinggangshan Scenic Area. It is not included in the Jinggangshan Scenic Area main entrance pass, so you need to buy a separate ticket. Adult tickets cost about CNY 60; check the ticket window or official booking page for the price on your day of visit. Children under 1.3 metres may enter free under the day’s ticket rules, and each child receiving free admission must be accompanied by one guardian. A ticket is valid only on the date shown; leaving and re-entering requires a new ticket.

The hall is next to the Jinggangshan Revolution Museum and centres on a seated sound-and-light presentation. It is currently open about 08:00–17:30; check the day’s schedule before planning around a particular presentation.

Time and presentation length

Allow about 30 minutes for the hall, including the roughly 20-minute panorama presentation. Presentation times are limited, so check the next available session before deciding whether to add the museum beside it.

Choose your visit

A seated panorama and sound-and-light show

Visitors sit on a rotating platform facing an oil painting about 112 metres long and 18 metres high. The panoramic painting is combined with sound, lighting, and multimedia effects to recreate events such as the Sanwan Reorganisation and the Huangyangjie Defence in a continuous historical scene. The main experience is a seated panorama rather than a conventional gallery visit.

A concise introduction to Jinggangshan history

Visitors who do not yet have a broad overview of Jinggangshan’s revolutionary history can use the approximately 20-minute presentation to establish a basic timeline and event context. Because the audience remains seated, the experience places less demand on the legs than a multi-floor museum visit and can fit into a half-day plan for families or older travellers.

The presentation or a combined visit

With limited time, watch the presentation and leave after the roughly 30-minute visit. If you want to connect the panorama with objects and historical materials, combine it with the Revolution Museum next door. The two venues are close, but the presentation, ticketing, and museum route require separate time.

Build your day

The approximately 30-minute hall visit

At the entrance, check the next presentation and then take a seat for the panorama. The show itself lasts about 20 minutes; holiday queues or a gap between sessions can make the total visit longer than 30 minutes.

The hall is dim during the presentation. If you want a photograph, do it before the show begins, when the curved panorama screen is visible; once the presentation starts, focus on the seated experience and leave through the normal exit afterward.

The 2.5–3 hour hall-and-museum route

Start with the panorama presentation, then walk to the adjacent Revolution Museum. Enter on the third floor, follow the one-way route to the fourth-floor exit, and, if useful, time the visit around the free guided tours at 09:00, 10:00, 15:00, or 16:00.

This combined visit takes about 2.5–3 hours, depending on the presentation gap, queue, and museum arrangements that day. The hall provides a seated panorama, while the museum provides objects, historical materials, and exhibition rooms, so keep the two experiences distinct when planning your time.

Get there

From Ciping and the nearby car park

If you drive, use the car park near the Revolution Museum and walk to the adjacent hall. The museum is a practical navigation target because the hall is next door. From Jinggangshan Railway Station, take the bus to Ciping for about CNY 5, then continue by Ciping’s free local bus or on foot.

Know before you go

Queues, light, and photography

The presentation room has limited capacity and may develop a queue during holidays. Check the next session and waiting time when you arrive. The room becomes dim during the show, so keep photography to the period before the presentation and follow the venue’s instructions.

Photography and accessibility arrangements follow the on-site guidance. If the hall is busy, keep the entrance and seating area clear and allow extra time before connecting to the museum.

After the visit

The Revolution Museum is immediately outside, and Mao Zedong’s Former Residence and Nanshan Torch Square (南山火炬广场) are within walking distance. The nearby Guangyuan Paidang (广源排档) is a possible place for a break; expect to spend about CNY 35 per person on dishes such as blood duck and braised pork. Prices and opening hours can change.

There are few places to eat or shop inside the hall. If you are only watching the presentation, plan food and rest in Ciping afterward; if you continue to the museum, check its last admission and free-guided-tour timing before entering.
