Yangshimu Scenic Area is in Wenjia Village, Yangshimu Town, Taishan Township, Anfu County, Ji’an. Most visits begin at Nanfu Gate (南福门), where the visitor centre, cableway station, and Nanfu Gate car park are grouped together. For driving directions, search for “Yangshimu Nanfu Gate Car Park (羊狮慕南福门停车场)”; parking is free.
Tickets and seasonal hours
The entrance ticket is CNY 100, the round-trip cableway is CNY 150, and the scenic-area sightseeing bus is CNY 30. From May to November, opening hours are about 08:00–17:30; from December to April, they are about 08:00–17:00. Cableway, sightseeing-bus, and access arrangements depend on the day’s operation.

Lingyun Plank Walk and granite peaks
Lingyun Plank Walk is the scenic area’s main viewing route. It runs for about 4 kilometres through granite peaks and formations such as Zaixiang Rock (宰相石) and Shisun Peak (石笋峰). After rain, the route may offer views of cloud and mist, making the continuous mountain path as important as any single viewpoint.
Dengfuding (登福顶) for a higher view
Dengfuding (登福顶) rises above 1,700 metres and is the area’s highest viewpoint. The summit section takes about 30 minutes and includes steeper steps. Add it to a longer visit if you want extra elevation and can handle the climb; it is a stronger physical option than the cableway-and-plank-walk route.
Who will enjoy the shorter route
The cableway, sightseeing bus, and Lingyun Plank Walk combination suits visitors who want mountain scenery without a long ascent. It is also a useful option for families with children or older travellers, although the approximately 4-kilometre walk still requires comfortable, non-slip shoes.

The 2–3 hour cableway and plank-walk route
Enter at the Nanfu Gate (南福门) visitor centre, take the cableway uphill, and transfer to the sightseeing bus for the Lingyun Plank Walk entrance. Allow about 1–1.5 hours for one direction on the plank walk, or about 2–3 hours for the return outing, then come back through the cableway and sightseeing-bus system.
This route focuses on Lingyun Plank Walk and leaves out the steeper Dengfuding (登福顶) section. Before setting off, confirm the day’s cableway operation, sightseeing-bus stops, and last return service.
The 4–5 hour Dengfuding (登福顶) route
Follow the shorter route to Lingyun Plank Walk, then continue on foot or by sightseeing bus to the Dengfuding (登福顶) junction. The summit section takes about 30 minutes; return to the cableway station after completing it. The full route takes about 4–5 hours and combines the plank walk with the area’s highest point, so it uses more energy than the shorter option.
Pay particular attention to steps and footing after rain. If Jinpaishan or another area is closed for maintenance, or if the cableway and sightseeing buses are operating differently, shorten the route to the areas open that day. The high-mountain sightseeing train toward Mingyue Mountain is an optional addition only when it is running.

Driving and high-speed rail connections
Driving is the most direct option: navigate to “Yangshimu Nanfu Gate Car Park (羊狮慕南福门停车场)” and enter through Nanfu Gate (南福门). The mountain road has many bends, so reduce speed; parking is free, but access management and available spaces can change with visitor numbers.
From high-speed rail, use Ji’an Station or Yichun Station, then arrange the scenic-area shuttle bus. Shuttle times and departure points can change, so confirm them when booking.

Cableway, walking, and optional activities
Lingyun Plank Walk is relatively gentle, but its approximately 4-kilometre return still requires stamina. Dengfuding (登福顶) has steeper steps, so wear non-slip walking shoes. Some free guided tours may include introductions to optional paid prayer activities. Participation is entirely optional, and these activities are not part of the entrance ticket or cableway fare.
Cableway and sightseeing-bus operation determines whether you can return by the planned route, and Jinpaishan may close for maintenance. Treat the entrance ticket, cableway, sightseeing bus, Jiangxi Culture and Tourism Card, and high-mountain train as separate items and confirm their operation on the day.
Food and a post-hike break
Zhushan Nongjia (竹山农家), Jiufulou (久福楼), and Yucha (屿茶) near the visitor centre can serve as before-or-after-visit stops. Local dishes include blood duck and pork with smoked bamboo shoots; Jiangxi food can be spicy, so request your preferred level when ordering. Restaurant opening hours and dish availability may change, so check before you go or when you arrive.
