Jiaying Temple is south of Yangzhuang Village, Jiayingguan Township, Wuzhi County, Jiaozuo. Set the destination to “Jiaying Temple”; free parking is available at the entrance. Advance reservations are usually not required, and tickets can be bought online or on site.
Opening hours are about 08:30–18:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, with entry stopping at 17:00. The site is closed all day on Mondays and is usually open on statutory public holidays. Imperial architecture and steles
The Imperial Stele Pavilion, also known as Crown Pavilion, contains the Yongzheng Emperor's iron-core, bronze-faced stele with imperial calligraphy. The Central Hall, also known as Wuchen Hall, has 65 painted dragon-and-phoenix panels on its sandalwood ceiling, making it a useful stop for visitors interested in architectural details.
Flood-control history and the architectural layout
The Flood-Control Officials Hall in the east and west side halls introduces historical figures involved in river management. The Daotai Office and Yellow River Control Museum add context on the history of managing the Yellow River. Jiaying Temple places palace-style buildings, temple halls and an official office within one complex, so the spatial sequence helps explain the site.
The claim that the halls “do not gather dust or spider webs” is a local legend. Treat it as part of the site's stories and focus on the buildings and displays that can be seen directly.

1.5–2 hours: central-axis route
Enter through the mountain gate and follow the central axis past the Imperial Stele Pavilion, Yan Hall, the Central Hall and Yu King Pavilion. This route reaches the principal buildings directly and suits visitors who want to see the main architecture first.
2–3 hours: extended route
After completing the central axis, visit the Daotai Office and Yellow River Control Museum on the east side, then the Daoist courtyard on the west. Use the Imperial Stele Pavilion, Wuchen Hall, Flood-Control Officials Hall and the complex's three-part layout as the main points of the extended route.
Get there
Driving and high-speed rail connections
If driving, set the destination to “Jiaying Temple”; free parking is available at the gate. By high-speed rail, travel to Jiaozuo or Wuzhi Railway Station, then change to a tourist shuttle, a local bus or a taxi. A taxi from Wuzhi Railway Station takes about 30–40 minutes; public-transport schedules should be checked for the travel date.
The entrance and main buildings are within the same complex, so follow the central axis on foot after entering. If you extend the visit to the Daotai Office, Yellow River Control Museum and Daoist courtyard, follow the sections open on the day.

The Monday closure is the main scheduling restriction. Holiday opening arrangements may differ. Student, older-visitor and child discounts require the relevant documents, and visitors using foreign passports should confirm which ticket types apply before buying.
