Tickets and timing

Qinglong Gorge is in Shuangmiao Village, Xicun Township, Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo, Henan. Use the Qinglong Gorge Visitor Service Centre as the entrance. Allow about 2–3 hours for the main visit, or 3–4 hours if you spend longer at the bottom of the gorge, play by the water or wait for transport.

There is no single standard entrance ticket. The cableway, sightseeing bus and slide are charged separately or sold in combinations. A common package covering admission, the sightseeing bus and the uphill cableway is about CNY 90–120. Tickets can currently be purchased on arrival without an advance reservation. In the busy season, entry usually stops around 16:30, with operating hours roughly 07:30–16:30; follow the day's on-site schedule.

How to plan the visit

The easiest route is to take the sightseeing bus uphill, ride the slide down, walk along the gorge, then take the uphill cableway back to the top. Visitors who enjoy streamside walking can spend about an extra hour at the bottom, while walking both up and down would require considerably more effort.

Choose your visit

Emerald Lake and gorge scenery

Emerald Lake, streams, waterfalls and moss-covered stone steps are concentrated in the gorge. This suits visitors who want mountain-and-water scenery with a section of streamside walking. There are viewpoints for Emerald Lake near the upper cableway station, and the Hobbit House can be a short architectural stop.

An easy visit or a walking-focused visit

Older visitors, families with children and anyone who wants to reduce uphill walking can combine the sightseeing bus, slide and uphill cableway. Visitors who prefer a longer walk can spend more time in the gorge, but path maintenance and conditions on the day affect whether the full walking section is suitable; check the on-site arrangements before setting out.

Build your day

2–3 hours: a one-way route without retracing

Take the sightseeing bus from the visitor centre to the top, then ride the slide downhill. The slide ends deep in the gorge, where you walk forward along the stream before taking the uphill cableway back to the top and the sightseeing bus out. The slide is used for the descent and the cableway for the ascent, so keep this direction when planning the route.

3–4 hours: extra time in the gorge

Follow the route above to the bottom of the gorge, then slow down around the stream, Emerald Lake and the Hobbit House before taking the uphill cableway back. Shops and food options are limited inside the scenic area, so bring water and simple food if you plan to stay at the bottom for longer.

Get there

Driving and public transport

If driving, set the destination to “Qinglong Gorge Visitor Service Centre.” The drive from Zhengzhou takes about 1.5–2 hours, and parking is about CNY 10–20 per day. A tourist shuttle runs from the South Square of Jiaozuo Railway Station, but departures are limited; on weekends, the outward bus may leave around 08:10. Confirm both the outward and return arrangements before travelling.

Qinglong Gorge and Fenglin Gorge use the same Shuangmiao Village visitor service centre, but tickets and routes are organised separately. Once at the centre, buy for the named scenic area you intend to visit; the packages, equipment and routes for the two gorges are independent.

Know before you go

Weather, paths and equipment

Gorge sections may be slippery after rain, and sudden mountain rain or strong winds can stop the cableway. Some paths may be affected by maintenance, so visitors planning to walk should allow more time and avoid any section whose opening status has not been confirmed.

Food and shops are limited inside the scenic area and may cost more than at the foot of the mountain. Bring water and dry snacks. Services such as shared electric bikes may charge separately; confirm the price and where they can be used before renting one.
