Location and visiting time
Jiaoji Railway Museum is at 30-1 Jingsan Road in Tianqiao District, in the former Jinan Station site of the Jiaoji Railway built in 1915. The entrance faces Jingsan Road. Admission is free, no online reservation is required, and visitors register by scanning an ID card. It is open 09:00–16:30 Wednesday–Sunday, with entry usually stopping after 16:00; it closes on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Railway displays and restored scenes
The first floor covers railway construction history and shows old telephones, wall lamps, tickets, and a recreated Jiaoji Railway Hotel scene. The second floor has the “Five-Seven Station” waiting room and modern-history displays, while railway tools are concentrated on the third floor. The steam locomotive in the courtyard is a good group-photo point.
Architectural details
The red-brick façade, arched windows, stone columns, and wooden staircase to the third floor are part of the museum experience. Fragments of the four-faced clock from the former Jinan Station clock tower and a German rail from 1904 connect the building to the railway objects and suit visitors who like details.

1-hour short visit
Enter through the main front door, see the first-floor railway history displays and the recreated hotel scene, then go upstairs to the “Five-Seven Station” and modern-history exhibits. Continue via the wooden staircase to the railway-tools gallery and finish with photos of the courtyard steam locomotive. Visitors changing trains at Jinan Station can cover the highlights in about an hour.
1.5–2-hour full visit
Follow the short route but spend longer with the old telephones, lamps, and tickets on the first floor, read more of the history display on the second floor, and rest in the courtyard or on a bench after the third floor. Large bags cannot enter; free lockers are to the right of the entrance, and a 20-inch suitcase may fit depending on the space available that day.

Arrival and local transport
The museum is about a 5–10-minute walk from Jinan Station, making it practical during a transfer. Driving directly to the museum is not recommended because on-site parking is limited; check car parks around the Old Commercial Port and walk from there.
Use 30-1 Jingsan Road and the museum’s main entrance as the navigation target. The China Book and Letter Culture Museum opposite the street and the nearby Old Commercial Port can be added as short follow-up stops.
Know before you go
Practical considerations
The museum closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, and entry usually stops after 16:00. Its own food and shopping options are limited, so plan meals in the Old Commercial Port; use the lockers first if you are carrying large luggage.
Photography inside and in the courtyard follows on-site management. Do not occupy the wooden staircase or old-building passages for a long time. Families should check whether the immersive mystery game is running that day before building it into the route.
