Area and entrances

Qushuiting Street is an open walking district in Jinan’s old city. It connects north to Daming Lake South Gate, south to Furong Street, east to Baihua Pool, and west to Wangfu Pool and Pearl Spring. There is no unified ticket gate; shops, tea houses, and restaurants keep their own hours. Allow 30–45 minutes for a quick walk or 1–2 hours for a full route.

Who it suits

This is a good stop for city walks, spring-lined lanes, old-city buildings, and street photography. Main paths and side lanes are often paved with stone, and weekends and holidays are busy, so comfortable shoes and a quieter time matter more than trying to count every stop.

Qifeng Bridge and the spring-lined streets

Qifeng Bridge frames a small bridge, spring water, willow trees, and street lights in one view and is the district’s signature photo point. Around Wangfu Pool and Zhuoying Spring, spring water runs alongside residential lanes; this is an open neighborhood, so view it from public paths.

Lao She walls and evening views

The Lao She-themed wall on Xigengdao Street, the main-street text walls, and red lanterns after dark are useful photo subjects. Early morning 07:00–09:00 is quieter, 16:00–18:00 gives softer light, and after 19:00 is better for night views; each time highlights a different side of the district.

Build your day

30–45-minute short route

Enter from Daming Lake South Gate, follow the main Qushuiting Street route to Qifeng Bridge, then leave south along Xigengdao Street. This covers the main street, bridge, and representative lanes and leaves time for Daming Lake or Furong Street.

1–2-hour highlights route

Start at Baihua Pool, cross Baihua Bridge into Qushuiting Street, pass Wangfu Pool and Zhuoying Spring, then reach Qifeng Bridge for photos. Leave south along Xigengdao Street toward Furong Street or Pearl Spring. In the evening, Daming Lake, Qushuiting Street, and Baihua Pool can form one walking route, with the lanterns and water views saved for the final section.

Get there

Arrival and local transport

Take Jinan Metro Line 3 to Daming Lake Station, Exit D, for the north end of the district. Buses 11, 41, and K54 stop at Daming Lake Southwest Gate. Old-city roads are narrow, so driving is not recommended; if necessary, check the Qifangxiang surface car park or the Shandong Provincial People’s Congress guesthouse car park and walk 10–15 minutes.

Walk inside the district; its stone paths and narrow lanes are not suitable for fast cycling. Use a specific target such as Daming Lake South Gate, the north entrance to Furong Street, or Pearl Spring North Gate rather than a general old-city search.

Know before you go

Practical considerations

Qifeng Bridge and other narrow points become crowded on weekends and holidays, while mornings and weekdays are better for photographs. Some lanes are dim at night, so keep evening walks on lit streets and paths.

Try snacks as you wish, but compare prices and reviews before choosing a full meal or local product. For unpriced bracelets, photo services, or interactive activities, ask the cost before taking part; the district itself is free, while shops charge separately.
