Caves, Dragon Palace, and canyon
Jinxiu Palace Cave, the Underground Dragon Palace, canyon paths, and the Qilu First Buddha form the natural and cultural core. The Underground Dragon Palace has many steps and can feel hot and stuffy; the cave is around 18°C and the floor is wet, so it suits visitors comfortable with stairs and slippery surfaces.
High-altitude activities
The glass bridge, high-altitude rafting, aerial flying car, and magic carpet form a separate activity track. Visitors who skip the glass bridge may need about 1 hour to walk around it. High-altitude rafting and the aerial flying car are each listed at CNY 80; choose according to the day’s price and your energy.
Build your day
3–4-hour activity route
Take the sightseeing shuttle from the entrance to the cave, visit Jinxiu Palace Cave and the Underground Dragon Palace, then use the magic carpet uphill, cross the glass bridge and glass slide, and treat high-altitude rafting as optional before leaving. The shuttle is listed at CNY 20 one way, and official parking at CNY 10 per day.
5–6-hour full route
Start with the children’s area and canyon scenery, then visit the cave and Dragon Palace. Follow the mountain path to the Qilu First Buddha, and continue with the glass bridge, cliff walkway, and high-altitude activities. Compare package inclusions before buying when several activities are planned, so you do not pay twice on site.
Get there
Arrival and local transport
Driving from central Jinan takes about 1 hour. After navigating to Qingtong Mountain Grand Canyon, continue to the official car park rather than stopping at private lots along the road. By bus, take K65 or K67 to Zhonggong, change to Route 809 to the terminus, and walk about 500 metres; the full journey takes around 2.5 hours.
Inside, movement is mainly by walking, sightseeing shuttle, magic carpet, and high-altitude activities. The cave and Dragon Palace can feel very different from the hot open areas, so bring a light layer, sun protection, and water.

Practical considerations
Activity and package prices change frequently. Compare which tickets include the shuttle, bridge, and other activities before travelling. Bridge photography and crystal-frame photos are optional purchases and are not automatically part of admission.
The Underground Dragon Palace has many steps and is hot, damp, and slippery, so it does not suit every older visitor or child; another canyon route is possible. Bring a rain poncho for rafting and wear slip-resistant shoes. Firewood chicken and stir-fried chicken in the scenic-area surroundings and Zhonggong make practical meal options.
